I bet that was in Ibiza, thats why you stayed an extra couple of days

Agreed…
But hell will break loose if a French cop were to ban a brit while driving in France on holiday…
We would ear about all sorts of things.
What we need is a European license, with homogenized driving regulations.
Could start by changing all signs from MPH to KPH so that Arnie can understand them

Never got banned anywhere mate… Could have carried on just with the UK license but playing the system is very time consuming and I have more important things to do…

Is Arnie just here on holiday then? Hope he`s enjoying it!

Hey wait a minute, your saying that you offer the police money for ‘pulling’ you! I had heard dodgy things about spanish cops but this is getting outrageous.

if that’s not playing the system then i’d like to know what is

:ermm:

Because 4 years ago, UK blocked a EU legislation that would have permit for UK cops to take of points/license from other EU members as they would not accept that other EU members cops/judge could do so to UK citizen… That is why…

It is good to have national pride but it can be misplace…

arnold!

you silly sod! calm down mate, pay attentin to that speedo!! save it for the BCR mate, i dont wnna see you banned :frowning:

Frederic once again you have tried to engage your brain again…

A mate of mine stupidly went on last years Cannonball bike run which took them through 9 countries in Europe. They only got as far as switzerland were they got arrested and had their bikes enpounded and told they would more than likely get crushed. They were left to find their way back home with just their passports and wallets. How much news do you think that took up over here? Infact i doubt you even knew this event even took place. He is still waiting to find out what has happened to his Gixer thou and that was a year ago. He played with the law and lost and is taking it. Seems to me that something like this needs to be done over here then maybe you’d play by the rules.

Considering what he does for a living, I know a lot of people that would pay to go on a holiday like that… Actually I think there is a TV program that show them… Porn week it is I believe…

Ok DR? “Arnie pull yourself together and be a better rider. Learn from your mistake”

seconds out round two

Very heavy fines is the Guardia Civil specialty. They give you a receipt tough but if you have a foreign license, you ain’t going anywhere with the vehicle until you’ve paid up…

They are pretty hard but remember that they are military police like the french gendarmes.
They were created by General Franco, not your average social worker if you ask me but it does work.
Unless you are gay because they still seems to have a major issue with that…:frowning:

I pass 4 years studding law.
Practice for 6 months for my dad, never made it in front of a judge, then went on my own way and never practice law again…
You wouldn’t want all those French tax payer money waisted, wouldn’t you?

That must have been one of those gay joke that strait men just don’t get…
I will ask my bro, and will get back to you on that one…

That actually makes me quite cross. I am a huge fan of the EU. If it wasn’t for the EU, I wouldn’t be here. You may not care, but what a riot it would be if suddenly all expad Brits in Europe would have no right to live there. The reason why Brits can move abroad is the EU. but yet, the Brits are the most anti-EU people I have meet (I know it’s a generalism, and it seems to be driven by the tabloit press rather than real facts). So, as said before, if the Brits would have played rather than throw their toys out the pram, we would have had a propper EU licence and the system would be less bureaucratic.
I was annoyed that I had to send in my Belgian licence. Not because I was playing the system (I never had points on my Belgian licence, and I’ve only ever had 3 points on the uk one, and that was for doing 34 in a 30 zone on my scoot), but because I don’t think it’s right that I need to pay money for my original licence to be taken away and go through loads of red tape, because the Brits don’t want to play.
I accept it because I love living here, and I generally don’t complain about it, but when people suddenly go all wingy about “the poor Brits” and the “foreign visitors”, I get a bit pee-ed of.
