Good news the Op went well and he’s fighting fit from it. Shame about the infection but at least he’s at the Hospital, best place for him to be.
Still got my fingers and toes crossed (you know how hard it is to get ya shoes on with crossed toes! :D) and hope he makes a full recovery!

No change really, lots of routine tests, might be out Thursday if we’re lucky. Wendy’s a bit tired…

Keeping my fingers crossed for the little fella
I’ve just spoken to Wendy. Dan is now staying in until after the weekend at the earliest. He still has an infection although the levels are very low, and he has fluid around his heart - not unusual after open heart surgery, but they don’t want him home with a combination of those two things. On a positive note his heart is working well, and his O2 satuation levels, which before the op were 85-90% are now 99-100% where they should be). Hopefully they’ll be out Monday or Tuesday. Wendy is understandably a bit down. I’m ok but my other kids are asking more & more for their Mum, so I may have a few stroppy moments over the weekend:rolleyes:
Sounds like he’s getting better very slowly luvvie…at least he’s improving and he’s in the best place, after what i went thru the other day with our Zak i really can sympathise with Wendy hospitals defo drain the parents and i only stopped one night! fingers crossed luvvie they’ll both be back at home real soon;) give them my best wishes:)

Well that was an interesting couple of days…
Yesterday I braved the public transport system on my own, and went up to Chelsea to see Wendy & Dan. I arrived just in time for the consultants to do their rounds. After much discussion they decided that if the results of tomorrows (i.e. todays’) test & x-ray results were ok they would discharge him, but we would have to go back next week as a day case for further tests…
Today I’ve been clutching my phone close to me, waiting for the call from Wendy… I finally got the call from her this afternoon at 1530 on the way back from school. So I told my 3 other kids Mummy & Dan were coming home, and to say they were very excited would be an understatement.
Left home at 1610, with my Dad driving my minibus. Managed to get to London ok, picked up my loved ones and was back home at 2010!
Dan has an impressive scar right down the middle of his chest & seems quite happy. All the other kids waited up for Mum to come home, and were ever so pleased to see her.
So my life will start to get back to something approaching normality…
Thank you to everyone on here who have shown support, and offered help. Just knowing other people are out there supporting you helps to get through things like this.
I will now be able to resume my daily routine of spending hours on line reading LB and avoiding household chores
