The 08 slip-on mod is to get an 07 model exhaust as it normally bypasses the cat. The 2008 cat is welded on, so 2008 slip-ons are the looks-only items which slot onto the cat. Not good. So this way you cut the 2008 cat off and use an 07 exhaust.
