Which exhaust shall I get for my ER6n?

Decided to save up for a new slip-on exhaust to add a bit of lovely noise :slight_smile: Had a look at Akrapovic, but every 2nd bike I see seems to have one :ermm:

Any suggestions?

Sorry Alex, didn’t mean to slate Akrapovic. It just seems to be the popular choice and I wondered what else is out there and if it is any good.

Edit: And I know you got two and you use it for your minor ‘beeping’ so it must be good :slight_smile:

The Yoshi is IMMENSE, but you will need the baffle in as it is ridiculous out :smiley:

The exhaust on the ER6 sits under the bike so there is no point in getting a ‘nice’ exhaust because it collects all of the road grime under there and generally looks beat up in no time. Plus it’s an ER6n, let’s be honest - an akrapvoc can at retail price would be about 10% of the value of the bike!!

Get a simple MTC can from eBay. About £150 delivered from memory and they sound both BETTER and LOUDER than an akrapovic. Quiet and dignified with the baffle in, loud and totally obnoxious when the baffles out.

Thanks for the advice, albeit slightly patronising. An Akrapovic exhaust for the Er6 is around £350 - 10% of the value of the bike, eh? Thanks dude…

I looked at those at the MCN in Birmingham last year. They look great :slight_smile: I don’t think they make them for the ER6 though - I couldn’t find it on their website…

Sorry, didn’t mean to come across as patronising but then again, I get needlessly worked up about things like that. Akrapovic & related high performance cans are nothing more than a fashion accessory for the majority of riders. Why spend 10% of the value of the bike (isn’t it??? OK maybe 7% if its brand new :P) on an exhaust when £150 one will do :smiley:
