Whats your mileage?

Clock says 33000, but I’m pretty sure its 133000. Still runs like new, as in new, I mean quite old and rattly. Often beat litre sports bikes at the lights; probably down to the shock of seeing a ball of gaffer tape ridden quite as hard as I do. Will be even better now; the clutch works properly. The mechanic shop I go to rule.

Well most of my bikes have had high miles, my fz6 had 40k on a 53 plate, my 01 tiger 955i had 55k. I dont worry about buying a bike with a few miles on, we are quite fair i think at our dealership for prices, even with highish mileage.

My 05 Monster has 12k - all by me
My 03 ST2 has 23k - 10k by me last year

My 05 CBF is up to about 30K, 28,800 of which are mine. And my ZX is up to about 17K, only 9k of which are mine.

Dealers go off book prices, then try n knock you down a bit more I reckon. And it seems as though book prices are based on sticking your finger in the air and pulling a random number out of it, using the “fair weather, 2000 miles a year only in the sunshine” kind of riding as a benchmark. Go figure :stuck_out_tongue:

WELL MY SCOOTER HAS 9,500MILES

BLADE HAS DONE 30,000 MILES

gsxr1000 k5 8000 miles i put 5000 on in the last 10 months. i dont have a car i ride all year round, the misses drives.

Dealers seem to think most people only do the average mileage of 4,000 miles a year, as weekend warriors etc… I regularly do more than that a month! (Instructor)So, an '04 bike should have, in their opinion, no more than 16K. - so your 17k, if fulley serviced, is fine - sounds like they are trying a stitch-up.

Ring Neil at Silverstone Superbikes, tell him Toast at Horizon sent you. 01908 566999 - no promises, mind. But he’ll give you an honest answer.

It is the resale value that they think will be affected, along with things like full dealer service history and no silly ‘upgrades’ that seem to devalue the bike rather than increase it; this is because most dealers like to sell stock bikes, as they feel most punters will worry about whether the ‘mods’ have been carried out competantly.:hehe:

You are always better to sell it privately, mate - the dreaded ebay, bike-trader, MCN or any of the piles of bike sales websites. Tried here?

05 ZX10R owned from new has 23.6k on the clocks.

1999 zx6r, 29000 miles only about 5000 of which put on by me.

Year old GSXR750 K7 - 3,300miles. Up till about 2 years ago, I’d average 10k-12k a year on road but nowadays just don’t get the time. Only done 250 miles so far in 08 :crying:

5 year old GSXR600 K3 (now trackbike) - 17,600 miles (last two years it has done around 500 miles on track

my SV has just over 14,500, it had 8200 when i bought it in august last year:D

only probs have been a loose front disc(rivvetts went on one side) and a few rear tyres! currently on my third!:w00t:
