I’ve got a 1999 ZX-9R with 42k on the clock - had 32k on it when I bought it last June, and the 10k I’ve done since then have been trouble-free.
Mileage means nothing - you can have a 20k bike with FDSH ridden by a vicar or a 3k bike that’s had the tits caned off it in the summer and laid up in the winter.
Couple of years ago I bought a VFR750 that had 70k up and it rode like new.
It was my GSXR 1000 K7 first birthday last weekend and it’s on 17,500 miles.
The track bike was bought a couple of years ago with over 50k on it, it runs like a dream. The triumph had 12k and has been a b@stard of a bike with no end of problems, so it doesn’t matter what the mileage… if you get a dud you get a dud it’s just bad luck.
The 2 K7’s we bought last year, one had problems that was on the recall, mine didn’t but still had the recall’s done.
My ZX6R was new in Aug last year and has done 11,000 miles now, only problem has been warped front discs which were changed under warranty.
No idea of the mileage of my k4 gixer 750 but it’s been down the road and ended up a cat B right off, was then sold and the buyer used it as a track bike for a year then I bought it, the engine runs better than many I’ve heard and pulls like a train, no odd noise or problems.
My 1994 zzr11 has 41K and still like new. A few years ago I bought a one owner FJ1200 dispatched from day one with 172 000K on it. Only problem it had was the starter clutch. Still went well but looked a shed Think it was run by West 1 or something like that…
My 2002 Sprint RS had 2580 miles on it when I bought it on March 23rd. I’ve done 1500 miles since then, so it now has just over 4000 miles on the clocks. Previous Sprint RS, 2000 model had 64000 on the clocks when it was stolen.
1999 (T reg) V-Max has about 7500 on it now - when I bought it in August 2006, it had 3350 rain-free miles and’d had 3 owners. Conversion was finished last July and once I’d nailed the electrical problems, I started getting use out of it in October. I think it’s nearly run-in now
