So a few of times recently I’ve been to meet people, parked up in a bay and come back later to find someone has abandoned their machine too close to mine and I end up having to wiggle my bike out from inbetween theirs and cars or something - assuming I can get it out at all!
A couple of months back a friend of mine made some stickers that said things like “rude” on them which he would cheekily attach to people who were rude on the tube so they’d get to work, take off their coat and maybe think about how they’d behaved. I was thinking I might do the same but for bikes. I’d love to be able to leave a gentle reminder to be more considerate like these stickers in the US for cars
Question is, what would you put on yours? I need ideas. I’m printing using the stickers that the company I work for make (moo.com/products/stickers). They are small square stickers so quite discreet and will easily come off when the offending rider returns to their bike.
Could be cool, but i’d say keep em inoffensive. Calling someone an idiot (even though they probably are) is IMO less effective than the “rude” example or asking someone nicely to think next time…
Less amusing though i’ll admit.
And they’d have to be plastic so they just peel straight off, no marks.
All that said, a long time ago we did have a fun summer posting “Don’t be a D*ck” stickers all over the place… saw them as a public service announcements for the city.
Right, I’m an expert at this, having been a chariot user for 20 years and been screwed over by pathetic parking many a time. I tried writing all sorts of abuse on the dirt on vehicles to absolutely no effect, the sort of stuff that made me feel marginally better but didn’t stop the problem. That is, until one day, I hit upon the silver bullet… one word. writ large in the dust:
