What an Idiot

Firdt day of riding in to town, because i am doing a 5 day course.

Had a reccie yesterday, and found the perfect parking spot.

Got there this morning, all fine. Bike chained to anchor and disk locked - all good.

City boy in parks up brand new GSXR 1000 K8 - he was wearing a suit, nothing else about 3 spaces from me.

He started braging how good his brand new bike was, blah blah blah!

I ignored him and went to the training session.

Just popped back to check on bike over lunch break, and find him there with a police man - someone has nicked the bike.

He left a brand new bike completelly unlocked, and unsecure.

You spend several thousand pounds on a dream bike, and dont buy £150 chain because it is not nesacery . . . . . I think not!

Have a good one!

Chris

just because he wears a suit and has a good job, does not mean he has any brains.

Priceless!!

Ooops gotta feel forthe bloke , but like u said , what an idiot !!!

That is just daft. Poor bloke, will he learn from this? Who knows…

HE DOESNT CARE MATE MUST HAVE MORE MONEY THEN SENCE MATE.

EVERYBODY KNOWS TO LOCK THERE BIKE UP WHEN YOU ARE IN THE WESTEND OR CITY.SILLY MAN

Unlucky for the bloke, but a) riding in just a suit, and b) not having any security on there…bit of a muppet really…

rule of thumb is spend 10% of the value of the bike on security, so he could have had an alarm/chain/disklock and tracker for that…

he’s obviously not a seasoned biker, or he wouldnt be riding in just a suit, and would have known better about parking a brand new unlocked sportsbike in london!.

Just someone who had more money than sense to buy the latest bit of bling, then felt it earned him enough brownie points to brag at the first biker he came across

Fair do’s, no one deserves to have their bike nicked by thieving scum, but at least it gives him time to buy some leathers!

i reckon that that’s the most important point.

Not what he was wearing or how he ‘bragged’ about having a new bike, or the lack of security on his bike

ever tried riding in a suit? its flippin uncomfortable :hehe:

(felt flippin daft too)

not being funny but if you didn’t have biker mates/were on forums, would you know how much of a nightmare it is to park bikes in london?

yup, i came to london without knowing a single soul…

had never even seen a bike park before

:w00t:

It can’t be harder than riding in a straight jacket!

is this personal experience? :w00t:

id like to see that, do u give demos?

where were u escaping from?

Unlucky…I guess its like some people writing off their bikes shortly after buying it.

Insurance will pay out and hopefully they’ll learn :hehe:

HOPE HE DOES LEARN TO LOCK HIS BIKE NEXT TIME

nah, only noobs do that dont they?

i would imagine you’re used to wearing uncomfortable things under your leathers, not instead of pete

I used to ride in a suit once but with Cordura coveralls over the top and some decent boots.

Trouble was, when I showed up for my meeting the bimbo on the front desk always thought I’d come to service the water cooler/air con./central heating/whatever.

As for bike security, you don’t need to spend a fortune. It’s deterring the scum bags that counts. A couple of decent disk locks and a chain (you might be lucky and have something to chain the bike to) should do the job. A £15 off ebay noisy disturbance alarm might also help.

But no coveralls, no locks? D*ckhead. No sympathy.

what a nob, i once was riding through Brixton and saw a guy wearing a suit riding a bmw, he looked ridiculous, and then proceeded to tell me about how good his bmw was, like i give a ****.

Wow, you lot can be harsh. Just because he was wearing a suit and riding a nice bike doesn’t mean he didn’t work hard for it.

Saying he was asking for it is like saying women who wear short skirts are asking to be raped.

It is not OK for anybody to steal from anybody - regardless of how much money they do or dont have :frowning:
