TIME TO STOP THIS ****!

Good morn peeps…had the unhappy pleasure of seeing some “kid” on a scooter this morn, nearly take a woman out, in the petrol stn, who was walking back to her car after paying for her petrol…:w00t:

FFS !! Why do these kids think they own the damn road or area even, i mean, i was in my car and just couldnt believe what i saw…he had just filled up, and pulled out and was looking at a billboard notice and didnt see and swerved AROUND her as she walked to her car…i almost wished he had hit her, only cos i would’ve been a witness and made him pay, but glad he didnt hit her cos she had kiddies in her car…

IF YOUR GOING TO RIDE YOUR DAMN SCOOTER RIDE IT PHUKING PROPERLY !! YOUVE GOT IT FOR A REASON…(COS YOU CANT AFFORD A BLOODY PROPER BIKE) SO STOP TAKING THE PEE AND MAKING US RIDERS GET A BAD NAME !! (cos every single time i say i ride a bike, some know all will turn round and have something to say about “those effing bikers” and proceed to give me a long list of things “I” do on the road on “my” bike, like its MY fault !!) Like “they” dont think i know that “they” are doing when they look in the car mirror, see me filtering and wait till im right up to the window and through their 'kin fag butts out on me !!

Was on a ride out one time, down and around country lanes in essex, i was doing my corner man thing, and a couple came out of a side turning and promptly came over and started on me, telling me about the amount of bikers they have to put up with hooning around their villages, scarying their horses and children and making their dogs chase the bikes…theres me, all on me tod thinking…“ffs why me” !!!

But when you get people like this fool this morning, im not surprised! That woman couldve ended up in hosp instead of taking her kids to school !

Rant NOT over…cos its gonna happen again

There are a bunch of kids on their scooter outside my work that start to play around with no helments on… its ridiculous…

Its down to immaturity and most of they have no common sence, to think of their end result of their actions.

If I see them again… I going to stop and talk to them… Friendly advice

Mate? it wont make any difference, in fact, if they belong to the upcoming scooter riders of late, they will gang up on you !! This one had on the classic cheapo helmet, undone (prob couldnt do it up anyway), trainers for boots, no jkt, just a shirt undone and flapping in the wind with tshirt underneath oh and NO gloves…im sure youve seen them.

I have them doing it outside my house, and yesterday on way back from BMM I almost hit one who undertook me then shot across the front of me to get into another lane, but he wasn’t a kid he was just an idiot on a scooter with no road sense.

This biker scooter antagonism could end up like ‘Quadrophenia’.

Brighton beach anyone?. .

Sadly there seems to be a pattern to teen scooter ownership (for some) that goes something like this…

  1. Week 1: 16 year old buys scooter

  2. Week 4: Mates buy scooters

  3. Weeks 4-52: Ride around in a posse generally pissing people off and behaving like teenagers do

  4. Sometime soon: One has nasty accident

  5. All give up scooters

  6. Week 52: 16 year old buys scooter etc. etc.

That description suits these hood rats near work… I’m sure it’s just a way to look more “COOL” i.e. no protection clothing…

When I’m on lunch today and I see them I’ll mention ScooterSafe…

There should be more courses like ScooterSafe in the London area… I’m sure it would reduce these events.

Maybe you could print off a load of graphic photos of road rash and the like to hand to them the next time you see them and ask if “looking cool” is worth the risk:P

they’re teenagers being dckheads and you’ll never stop that. i don’t remember wearing protective gear when i had my c50/70/90s as a teen. i do remember coming off in a shirt and jeans once though and going off in an ambulance. i’m not condoning the idiots though.

mate, you seen the mods on their scooters with the mirrors, in their gear? they look middle aged and overweight. not unlike a lot of bikers. we’re more likely to sit down over a pint and mutually bitch about the state of the roads/ the government/taxes/youth/ `that modern music wot’s a bit of an old racket’ than have a punch up. and if we did come to blows i’d open a book on which one of us is most likely to have a coronary and keel over first.

Think the parents are also to blame, as most 16 year olds probably couldn’t afford a scooter.

+1

But also on disclipline… I’ve seen young kids, bad mouthing their parent… No Respect!

I’m not one for the whole bikes v scooters thing as I have a love for both and regularly see stupid behaviour from both on my daily commute (and every other road user tbh), but there must be something in the air as my mum’s partner witnessed some proper reckless twattery from a scooterist just yesterday.

He’s sitting in his van on a busy main road when the traffic ahead stops for the pedestrians at the zebra crossing about four cars ahead. Suddenly a scooter comes flying up the outside of the traffic and smacks straight into a pushchair, sending it and him flying. Luckily for everyone involved it was empty as the woman pushing it was walking her kid by the hand.

Apparently when he was confonted by the various angry witnesses he also had the nerve to say “What’s the problem, I haven’t hurt anyone”, which landed him a punch in the face for his troubles. When Bill left there where three people holding onto him so he couldn’t do a runner before the police arrived. The whole thing could have been very ugly indeed, just because some ****** was too impatient to wait for twenty seconds, I dread to think what might have happened if the pushchair hadn’t been empty.

I think its because scooters are the cheapest / easiest way (easier than geared mopeds etc) to get on two wheels that they’ve become the transport of choice for these teenagers. Nowt to do with anti scooter feelings at all but can’t help seeing this kind of behaviour everywhere nowadays. Not sure what the answer is tho’. Saw a young fella pull up beside me today, joint/roll up in one hand, lighter in the other, stops at the line, lights fag, pulls away, both hands with something in them. Full control, I think NOT. :w00t:

I think you will find that they have scooters as it is the only choice at 16 other than the bus.

There are no more twats on scooters than there are on ‘proper’ bikes IMO

Scooters aren’t the only choice at 16, 50cc is but it doesn’t have to be in a scooter.

Aren’t AS/A-Level students (so 16/17/18 year olds) on exam leave from about this week? That’d do it.

Yep starting this Friday, they should be revising, or at least trying to…

bloody hell, you all forgotten what it’s like to be young and fearless??

Really? :doze:
