Temperence rideout to Basingstoke and beyond.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeWC59FJqGc

We feel an early start is in line with the temperence movement and the clocks going forward is in order so have a temperent evening.

We will be departing the Ace at 9.30am (this will be 8.30 to your sleep deprived body)

This gives us 10hr 30min of daylight which equates to 550 miles.

However with a lunch stop we can only accommodate 450 miles.

With two coffee stops this drops to 350 miles.

With two fuel stops this drops to round about 300 miles which is a piece of p1ss.

Usual rules apply - no learners, 125s (sorry), nobbers, Harleys etc, ride at your own risk, will be using the cornerman system.

Longer rides in the region of 650 miles + will follow but if anyone fancies an early summer bimble?

Would love to, but will be in bed! (Bruges the day before!)

Looking forward to the 600+ (aka 1/8th of a rear tyre in one day) in the summer!

Eat yer eggs early and the chocolate will give you a rush.

For those not Belgium boound this ride will excite the placid and redefine the meaning of sex.

My coccyx won’t last the 300, let alone the 600+ miles in its current state

We weren’t suggesting anything perverted or coccyx-shocking:D

Just riding hurts… I went to cheltenham for the weekend and had to frequently stop to rest it…

Knobber.

Awww don’t be like that… :stuck_out_tongue:

I promise I’ll come on some long ones when I get my arse in gear and go to the doctors to tell me what’s up and how to fix it, though the last time I did that it was a case of: “try these painkillers and come back in two weeks - they might help but this is sth that could keep coming back”… Until then I’ll be doing smaller rideouts

Of course not being able to do forward rolls in aikido correctly does not make it easier…

Awww sorry Alex,

Knowing yer not a knobber, how about bush trimming in the Chartwell department

I have no idea what Chartwell department is but bush trimming is always fun…

Can’t promise anything, would love to but I’ll have to see how the back is holding up.

I’ll be in France enjoying my mother’s lovingly home-made food, lots of sleep, having fun with my nieces and nephew, visitng relatives and friends… I’ll be home

Enjoy the ride, try not to miss me too much and remember I’ll be back! :w00t: (don’t all run for cover at once…)

Looking forward to the long summer rides!!

if I pass on thursday would be really up for this although wouldn’t want to hold you guys up if there is a small group as will be brand spankers…

We don’t want to put you off joining rides, but it would be safer all round if you got a few miles in before joining a long group ride like this one. Look out for the “new to big bikes” rides TimR often puts up here.

Best of luck with the test:)

We wish we were coming with you :crying:

indeed makes sense to me… hoping it rains for you now (joke :P)

Won’t matter if it does :P:P We like a bit of gravelly wet road, don’t we chaps:w00t:

Haa haa haa

Honestly, reading this thread - its a sorry list of pathetic, weak, lily livered excuses from start to ruddy finish. ooo it might rain, oooo its a bit far, ooooooo its too much petrol …

I’d come, but I’ve got an excuse coming. :stuck_out_tongue:

Light weight:P:hehe:
