I might not be going as I may have a hangover! Due to overwhelming support and interest in this ride, I wish to make two points very clearly:-

  1. Basingstoke is not a real place. It is simply a convenient metaphor for an imaginary point outside the M25.

  2. This ride is now strictly limited to a maximum of 10 bikes. Being the first to ask does in no way guarentee you a place as we will decide in a very fair manner who does and doesn`t come.

Yeah I might come … but… the clocks go forward, it might snow, it’s a bit far, petrols gone up, I might have a funny turn and need a lie down, it might be way too hot and sunny in which case I might want to lie around in a bikini with a Jilly Cooper getting a sun tan, also George Clooney might show up and ask me out on a date, plus I had to go to A&E last Sunday (that last bits true) and might need to be stretchered off the ride.

Well my bike is actually coming out in April. I’m arranging the insurance and stuff and I’ll book it in for a service. Not that any of that is relevant to this ride but it’s a start.

I’m feeling slightly aroused now… the excuses are piling up . Low sun is causing me problems these days…bike needs a service in 800 miles, will it let me down?.. clocks going forward - i will have to reset the clock on the bike and i cant remember how to do it… erm tyres are a bit shagged … leathers are a bit tight… not sure where Basingstoke is… maybe 10 bikes have booked already… no I’m not sure.

Haven’t been out in a while as have been busy with trackday stuff, like fixing crashed R1’s, being given incorrect parts, rushing around fleabay at last minute looking for radiators without holes :P, trying out lovely Brembo HPK brakes around Anglesey circuit, only to find they were faulty and having to return them (before I got killed on track)…tis all good fun :smiley:

If I’m not considered worthy enough or if I dont get up in time (damn daylight saving hour thingy! :w00t:) or end up out boozing sat nite…I’ll tag onto the other rideout…:hehe:
