Super Aggressive Van Driver

I was riding home from work today filtering past traffic up to a set of traffic lights. I pulled past some guy in a white van (on the outside and we were both turning right). While sitting there waiting for the lights to change the van driver starts shouting and swearing at me. As I pull off he accelerates up the inside and goes to ram into the side of me and we both turn right. I pull back on the throttle and get out of the way, but for the next mile stuck behind a large lorry I have this d1ck with his beams on full, shouting and swearing at me and driving right up behind me only inches from the back of my bike.

I work with people with serious mental illness, some even who have killed in the past, but I have never seen anyone act so insanely angry. I swear London is getting worse everyday!

what was he shouting about?

Id of booted the twats door then shot off through the traffic :w00t:

Wouldnt be my first time

If you’d risk getting a criminal record for an idiot like that then I really would have to question your intelligence !

best to get away from people like that as fast as you can, its not worth getting knocked off and i know of at least two people who have been…

id stop and ask what the gob about dick,

with a cam on the side of my lid, turned on or off, it makes people think twice:D

if i had no cam that day, id sucker punch him, and let him sleep it off for a bit:D

Maybe he had an urgent message for you or liked how you look in your bike gear :hehe:

Seriously, you did the right thing to get away because being London, you’re never quite sure what these maniacs might be carrying.

I’d be a tad concerned if I raised my fists to biff him on the nose, and he raised a sawn off.

You never know who you are dealing with these days, or what they may be carrying, so I agree that is is always best to remove yourself from any situation like this. Pleased you are safe and well

something simliar happened to Cat on her way to work last week, guy in a van was trying to edge her off lights once she filtered past, then acted like a nutter behind her as she rode off, then when they stopped at the next set of lights she was going to turn around and yell at him but 2 others bikers where already there going mental as they must have seen him being a ****! I think its cos shes a girl!

Just avoid them, take their reg and report them to the police. Not worth the hasstle to get aggro with them. Man in van V biker will have one outcome and it wont be good for you.

Yep just ignore them and give em a cherrie little wave when you ride off into the distance. Once you safe to do so obviously…

Btw thos who say grab the reg and report it, is it really worth it? Do the police ever do anything about it?

I had a similar one this morning taking exception to the fact that I was filtering. He was coming the other way and had at least 5ft of space to his left but refused to move over slightly and made me stop while he shouted abuse at me.

I just shrugged my shoudlers and called him a ******* idiot. It hasn’t ruined my day.

Thats what I thought, then along came a hefty fine + hefty damages + costs + criminal record. Lesson learned.

I’m always weary.

You get both types. I’ve had a go at people, punched windows etc - but I’ve also seen people’s reactions who have made me bugger off sharpish!

You just can’t tell.

Speak to Mo - he was almost blinded after having acid/or similar thrown in his face!

If you can go, you should… if you want to have it out, make sure you have a back-up plan!!!

I had a guy who spat at me… The only thing is he was in the middle lane, I was in the left hand lane, he misjudged and hit his wife who was sitting next him. the idiot had changed lanes without indicating causing me to break and having to move left… so I gave him a little flick of the wrist.

He seemed to be aggravated because his daughter was in the car who was giving me the finger as long as he was chasing me…

I pulled over to see what he would do but he stopped mid lane and would not pull over… I then passed him on the right, called him and his daughter a number of 4 letter words and took off through traffic he could not filter through…

That is a worry. You did the right thing. I did not… had a car trying to “chase” me into going faster through a 20mph zone with children coming out of school. I just held speed and caught up with the traffic ahead. Stopped bike, Got off and walked to his door and invited him to get out and come and have a chat. He refused. Chicken. Sometimes being 6ft6 and 18 stone pays off. But it was a stupid thing to do. Next time I’ll just **** of through the traffic.

No surprise for the last 24hrs, whenever there is a tube strike it’s like the Mothership from the planet Nuppty has landed and they are all driving on the roads of London:w00t:

Last night on the A13/A406 had swearving drivers whilst filtering between them, drivers cutting across 3 lanes and even the old chestnuts of using your wipers and screenwash to make sure my visor is clear or throwing crap out of the window just as I filtered past.

All of them not worth getting into a huge row about, besides find my bike revving at 9-10k RPM with the (non baffle) exhaust next to their open window seems to drown them out

Just be careful at all times!

Well i know someone that has dont it twice now

The first time was on a 125, some nob head chased us cause he wasnt happy about us wizzing passed his missus in her motor. Well he got infront(this was before we knew he was after us) gave it all hell out the window then as he was opening his door, BAAMM, door slammed on his hand sped off and he proceeded to chase us. Advantage to bike over car… We can go anywhere, we shot off up allyways and we where gone

Second was some pillock who swayed all over the road refusing to let this certain person passed. Got a nice clear straight, went out wide to go round and the nobber decided to pull rite across the road so soon got a swift boot to the door, actualy took the wing mirror off too, and opened up the 640 to leave him trailing miles behind as said person shot down the lanes.

Hey if anyones drivin dangerous towards me, little old me is gona fight bike and then scarper :w00t: If its caught on camera then it will show how said driver was trying to cause harm to ones self so it was all in self preservation

i cant comment on this as i would get into trouble…

the only thing i can say is choose your opponents carefully. so far so good

I cant stress how important it is for bikers to have cameras. It’s cheap to do.
Lots of YouTubers like myself show how it can be done for less than £20.

I’ve noticed that this stuff happens more commonly when riding my 125 or the Silverwing600 scooter.

One guy in a white van was trying to give it the large to me because I filtered up to the front of queing traffic (behind the first car at the lights) while I was on the Silverwing. He must of thought I was some toff.

It’s only when I met his aggression with my greater aggression he realized I wasn’t a toff. I threatened to drag him out through his window. His attitude changed quick and seemed like he wanted to play down the incident.
