*** SUNS OUT.......SO ARE THE IDIOTS ***

Coming home from work, sitting in traffic…waiting my turn, finally moved off to join yet another queue of cars…getting all hot, stick the air con on…ok fine…now i can sit in this crappy traffic for a while longer i guess…oh…whats that noise…aahhh its a gixxer…nice one…and look whats riding it…another moron in a thin t-shirt, trainers, and shorts !!!

oh but this one decides hes not going to wait for the car in front of me to move up so he can get in between and move out to filter…cos i would have held back traffic behind me till he got out…no, he moves up the inside, then must have seen a gap and comes through to the other side …hes actually now standing on his pegs and trying to look oh so cool…

this is in traffic…standing up on the pegs, in trainers, no shoe laces done up,with thin t-shirt and cargo shorts…and to top it all…he nearly misses a ladder thats on the back of a van and poking over the back…i say nearly misses it, i think he just touched it or it swiped his arm? cos his t-shirt got a long rip in it…and i think he was lucky to get away with that !!!

what is it when the sun comes out for the first time…the idiots on powerful bikes, or ANY bike come to that…comes out with it !!!

what if that guy had been pulled off his bike cos his sleeve got caught up on the end of that ladder…which had ties in yellow on the end of it so that driver did nothing wrong… :w00t: See thats when i think, no wonder people have a varied view on bikers…ie, oh your not another idiot on a bike are you? always makes me want to say, only as long as you dont mind being a idiot in a car…?

Or an idiot on a bike.

Had three " incidents" with BMW riders today.

The first realised he could not make the gap, pulled aside and waved me through.

The second got in my way, twice, by being a dick head and not reading the road/traffic and forced me to wait behind him through two phases of lights at a complex junction.

Conclusion? It’s not the bike that’s the problem, it’s the idiot on board.

Oldguy.

A couple of times a week I meet a blonde female on a superscoot. She’s magic at getting the traffic right and I always follow her.

Hmm. Another thread. The first BM was new and USED. The second was newish very, very clean.

Went down through Crawley last week, and at some point was overtaken by some dumb lad on a scooter. Was pretty slow traffic, but even so he struggled to get past me, only just made it in time before an oncoming lorry took him out. He had to swerve inches in front of my car but he did it so hard that he almost hit the kerb, and then veered back towards oncoming traffic snaking inside our lane. He only just managed that, and he was wearing a thin t-shirt and shorts, not even any gloves. He was very nearly a sticky mess on the road.

People like that make me want to slap them with their own license and tear it up in front of them, and I think that’s relatively kind :Whistling:

I saw several people in shorts/tshirt on the way home yesterday, some on scoots and a few on sportsbikes  One was polite enough to stick his foot out to say thanks after letting him pass though !

I agree. The ride home yesterday was littered with semi glad imitation Italian moped riders, sadly the slack bellies and sagging bosums were in evidence that they were not the real Gucci laden items…

They just need to come off once and then will realise the wisdom of sweating in protective gear. Thank heavens for nice cool summer gear!

I know what you mean, shorts and a T-Shirt, what are they thinking – surely the ‘de Rigueur’ for around town bike riding this year is a cropped capped sleeved t-shirt, tanga briefs and flip flops . . . will these anti-fashionistas never learn?

Saw some interesting riding from power rangers out of hibernation last night.

Some numpty on a BMW with massive paniers pulled out from between 2 cars on us last night on the way to BMM. We were already filtering and he just pulled out from between 2 cars without even looking. Then he poceeded to get stuck and hold us up in the traffic because his overly large paniers made him so wide he couldnt filter.

I have all the best gear I can afford…About 10 years ago I was living in Greece and ,riding home one afternoon, I came off at about 60 Mph - diesel on a corner - nothing I could do…Smashed my eye socket on the kerb , gave the rest of my head a beating. One arm and an ankle gone and bad road rash everywhere. Lucky to get through it although it was a year before I was anywhere near right.

My helmet and leathers were unmarked - they were at home… Yep…shorts ,t-shirt and no helmet because " it’s too warm"

Had I been wearing my gear I thing the only issue would have been my ankle as I tried to kick the bike straight…

Never again…it’s just not worth it;)

Interesting comments! I thought bikers were free thinkers - live and let live etc. Personally I wouldn’t get on my bike without leathers etc, but that’s me - older and wiser - if someone else wants to ride naked that’s cool - their decision, and possible problem, not mine.

Summer’s here, time for the annual full leathers Vs wear what you like arguement

True to some degree. But its always good to care about what others do, these things always have a habit of effecting the majority with reprecussions either from bad press or some sort of opportunity for new legislation.

You could say if someone wants to have unprotected sex everywhere then thats their decision to risk catching and spreading STI’s. It usually boils down to some sort of education.

Hopefully these guys dont get educated by having years of skin grafts and pain for their moment of ignorance.

If you can afford a Superbike then you can afford a perforated leather suit Leathers

THERE ARE ALOT OF IDIOTS OUT THERE.

THERE DONT THINK IF SOMEBODY PULLS OUT ON THEM

THERE JUST THINK I LOOK COOL WHAT IDIOTS

Time to get the motox gear out

Im quite grateful that stupid mondeo driver took one of my mirrors out by pulling out of a give way junction on me - it makes it easier to filter  I think I shall be reluctant to put the new one on  I shall make them easier to fold away in any event.

I love my zx10  its warm when youre sitting still and its cold and its lovely and cool when you roll on the gas  And man does it sound lovely at 6000  People pull out of the way because they think there is a noisy earthquake behind them

Dont worry about the idiots, you cant do anything about them

happily bounces off, pigtails aswinging :w00t:

I blame Boris

It’s so hot out there today. I rode to work in speedos and flipflops.

…and just for fun, did a handstand on the seat along the M4.

maybe they are the same idiots you see all year round but because the sun is out they want to get a tan :hehe:

 I Wonder how much of our taxes it costs to patch up these guys? So to say it doesn’t make any difference to anyone else is shortsighted to say the least:w00t:

I agree, if you want to engage in a risky sport or activity then take some basic precautions or you should pay for yourself to be sticthed up. It’s too easy these days to think that “the Govt” or the NHS will pick you up . . . well that can’t last forever. Bit more personal responsibility wouldn’t go amis.

In Hastings I saw riders in trainers, shorts, no gloves, just a helmet. One chap had his gf on the back too dressed the same . . . just can’t imagine how much falling off hurts without proper kit :pinch:

. . . sheet . . . I sound like my Dad :crying:

was on holiday in Rhodes a few years back; saw the hotel manager hop onto his bike in t-shirt,shorts, flipflops and no lid…thought each to his own you’re going to hurt one day mate…then he gets his 6 yr old kid to hop on the back in same state of dress…

you’re free to risk your skin if you want but if anything happened to that kid, its manslaughter…***ing gets me really angry

whine on all you like about free will, protect my rights , blaa blaa blaa, smack ya head on the pavement and rid the gene pool of your thick genes but dont drag minors into it…told him what we thought, he didnt give a cr@p of course
