Stuck caliper brake pad pin

It’s a break not a brake

fair play sir! well done

Won’t the brake pad pin be too long?

Ha, a sort of success lol.
At least you’ll know what to do next time.

Won’t the brake pad pin be too long?

That it will, hence why this caliper will be cannibalized for parts.

That’s good I was worried you might cut the pin in half, take out a bit in the middle then glue it back together

Wouldn’t that be an “elegant” solution. That just sounds like the break pads would be held purely by hopes and dreams

Alright mate, got the same problem, stuck bolt on my rear brakes, Yamaha fz6 04, the guy who I bought it off has put a flathead bolt in and the screwy isn’t gripping the groove, I’ve tried using WD40 to try get it loosened.

any help :man_shrugging:t3:

Flathead bolt!? What the hell. Jeez.

I would probably cut another grove into it to make it Phillips screw, then apply heat and bang in a big screwdriver and use a lightweight impact driver on it. Failing that, use a bolt extractor, and then replace it with the OEM bolt.

I’ve had a few bikes using a flathead bolt there. Usually with a very short grub screw following it in the same hole.
