So are pinlock visors REALLY that good??

Do they still fog up?

Issues? or 100% perfect?

Discuss.

yes they are that good - been using them for 5 yrs. wouldnt do without them.

also easier to carry a clear and dark pinlock rather than a clear and dark visor

Thats proper gay though^^^^

Do they ever fog up?

Whats bad about them?

Yea, they’re good.
Just make sure the pins are seated correctly to ensure a good seal.
IIRC they’re 6mm hex.

Yeah they are ace Lewis, not sure if I imagined this but for my first ride I could really notice it was there. Seemed like I was tricking myself it wasnt optically correct? Love it now though, the yellow is great when its lashing it down

I use a Pin-lock visor…

They do mist-up after a while, but a gentle clean and dry in the airing cupboard gets it back to being useful.

One will usually last me a year… Riding all day, every day, if I look after it…

Awesomes. Ta

Had one in my visor for 2 years now and it hasn’t fogged up once even in midwinter downpours. Occasionally it might mist a bit around my nose but never anywhere in the field of view. Sometimes I find that the edge of the insert lies right across my line of sight to the speedo though, but it’s better than not being able to see anything.

Yeah ive had a few incidents already this autumn with not being able to see F-all.

Seriously bad. For £50 visor its so worth it!

You can find a DIY kit to convert an existing visor for less than £20 on thebay.

Yeah saw that. TBH id rather just get the real deal. My current visor ahs a few scratches and marks too.

So the yellow good for rain + night or just rain?

I ride alot at night through dark lanes and dark motorway.

If you keep it well and it perfectly adheres to the visor it won’t fog!
I’ve been changing it a lot of times and after 1 year it got a bit bent so the nose fogs up but, like CjKit said, never in the field of view!
The “bending” issue can be sorted leaving the pinlock underneath a pile of books over night… after it’s as good as new

a pile of books. pfft. its all electro these days dude on kindles.

How many kindles or ipads do yout hink would flatten it to restore the’bending issue’ ???

Today, on the way home in steady rain I had the visor closed all the way for 12 miles, mainly stop start heavily congested roads, and no fog at all.

wow thats very good news. Ordered.

Cant believe I’ve commuted for over 7years without one! haha. Hard core or just stupid.

As others have said, sometimes there is a bit of fogging round the edges and near the mouth, but it is nothing like a non-pinlock visor.

There is a small optical effect, which I noticed for the first day or two, but not since.

So long as the seal is intact they work fantastically. If they come away from the visor and the seal is broken they can mist up which is a right ball ache. That’s due to not being properly adjusted rather than a product defect though.

Not only that but if they mist up I find they take a lot longer to demist…

On all my visors with time, the pins are no longer holding the pinlock in place despite adjustments. I think I need new visors given the way I treat mine so not sure it’s down to the product design itself

My lovely boyfriend bought me one

One day he decided to clean my visor, and he mentioned that it was “pinlock ready”. “WTF does that mean?!” said I. Then he explained it’s this magic anti-fog thing, and I got mad at him coz he knows I have such problems with fogging and he’d never thought to mention it before!

And then a few weeks later, one magically arrived in the post for me :w00t:

At first I thought it was a funny colour so I couldn’t see too good, but Boris explained I had to take the protective film off.
