riding days are over

alas they don’t make em like they used to.

GWS

Wow, good to hear you are alive after what sounds like a very nasty accident. Here’s to a speedy recovery dude.

Oooch, but at least you’r here to tell us about it! Hope you get well soon, you might reconsider. Time is a great healer…

Sorry to hear that.

I’m sure you’ll find something else to waste money on instead of bikes
Airsoft?
RC planes?
etc

GWS & good luck!

Hope you recover well fella. Being taken out by another driver is bound to make you question ever riding again, especially if there was nothing you could have done to avoid it. When you crash through a fault of your own it’s not so bad as you can tell yourself that you’ll learn from it and won’t make the same mistake again, but when it’s someone else’s fault then you know there’s nothing you can do to stop it happening again in the future.

he said he wants to give up.

i guess thats why nobody has mentioned any of the above. ^^ in my experience the words are pretty much the same these days.

He did say the bike was scrap in his initial post.

Chin up bud, I had an accident 11 years ago, demolished my ribs, opened my chest cavity up, punctured a lung, dislocated my knee, broke a couple of fingers, broke my collar bone and shoulder blade, loads of nerve damage, 15% reduced movement in my right arm, and lots or trauma to the skin where various bones ripped through.

2 operations to fix me up, including plates and pins in my shoulder.

I went through the whole ‘never going to ride again’ thing, but that soon goes and you’ll be back on in no time

I’ve not regretted riding again and now sport a gsxr1000 which I love (most of the time)

get well soon buddy

Rich

You came out alive however, that’s good  (any details per chance as to what happened?)

Don’t quit riding just yet, take a break, and see how you feel in a few months

sorry to hear this… glad you are alive to tell the tale, and hope you GWS.

Good luck with the rest of your journey, whichever way it takes you

Nasty injuries :frowning:
Glad that it’s not worse and I hope you heal well and soon - hopefully you will come back to biking afterwards, don’t let some idiot ruin this for you

Sorry to hear this m8, GWS.

Seen loads of nasty looking bike crashes on my commute lately - stay frosty peeps!

Oh mate that’s rotten. Best wishes for the recovery.

giving up is easier said than done, i gave up in 2003 after i stopped at some lights & the pr1ck behind me didn’t… 2 years later i was back on 2 wheels…
gws mate & see how you feel next year when the sun pops out again

Sorry to hear about your off. I hope you have a swift recovery.

Sorry to hear this, sounds like a pretty bad smash…get well soon fella.

Mate that sounds painful - get well soon
