oops... broke it....

You’re dribbling Tel;)

not this time, give me a few track days and then we will see…may take it to someone for a race fairing have a strange suspicion this one wont last too long if i leave it on…

Yeah mate, love to get my dirty little hands hands on it.

Sorry to hear this, glad you’re OK. My car has been sliding a bit (with provocation, mind  ) over the last few days on what looks like a dry/slightly damp road but it’s still covered in this new grit which apparantly has a different binding to keep it on the road, made from vegetable waste or something, makes it slippery until it’s all washed away, especially with temps hovering around 4C.

Was on the A10 today and took it easy but still had some fun

I think the vegetable waste would have been in his Jockey Y’s;)

There is a lot of grit down at the moment and the modern stuff can make the roads extremely dangerous for all road users as they make the roads very slippery when just above freezing or slightly damp.

There are often discussions about it on car and cycle forums - but rarely on bike forums for some reason -

I would try and find out what had been put on the road and how recently and ask for details of the safety assessment for motorcyclists. Ask the council using the Freedom of Information Act. If it turns out they had treated the road recently and had not tested it for use on roads used by motorcycles, you could have a very strong case against them.

Sorry to hear of your off 2T, glad not too much damage and that you’re OK, still sickening to think of your brand new beast going down like that!

I take it a set of R&G’s are part of that £450 repair bill?

bother is they get the R&G bungs this week…would have saved me a lot of money me thinks…

Yes Hammy thinks it was this greasey stuff that makes it stick around for a few days…

Wish i had known that a few minutes before i did the roundabout…

We live and learn…

damn 2t, sorry to hear this :frowning:

oh no :angry:Glad to hear your ok.

Headed out with Meeks and another mate earlier after seeing the sunshine through my window, but it was very cold out there today!

Even taking it sensibly the bike was sliding around a bit, that and the low sun  didnt fill me with confidence…

Was looking forward to seeing that in action on the 1st as well :frowning:

what the… this is some kind of joke. You can’t have been trying KD on a day like today. Its frikin cold out there and my tyres where not getting heat into them. Could feel the bike was twitchie and there is a ton of grit on the roads. I even had my hot grips on in the afternoon. Last weekend when it was a warm sunny +10 was fine but not today. Well, its only money I suppose, although I’d still be totally gutted/annoyed :frowning:

Sorry to hear about this mate…

Sorry to hear about this, but at least you’re ok

As James May would say when things go wrong "Oh C0CK"I’d be gutted too :crying:

That’s why I rode mine last week and now it’s in its duvet again ;)You have hot grips? <IMG onclick=“AddSmileyIcon(‘smileys/thatsgay.gif’)” src=“http://www.suzukiownersclub.co.uk/forum/smileys/thatsgay.gif” border=0>Sorry to hear this two strokes, but that shite has been about for ages :frowning: first lot went down in November this time around :ermm:

What have you done? I was all ready for a blast on that round Brands;)

The fall may not have hurt you but watching your pride and joy sliding down the road must have been agony.

At least you’re not hurt Stroker. It was slippery today though with the low temperature and I was sliding around on the supercorsas today, not much fun, but it was last week when the sun was out:cool:

£450 worth of damage is not a bad result I suppose.

Out of curiosity have you checked the tyre pressures since the off?

Was that directed at me?? Yes, under my handlebar muffs and very nice they are too. I get out on my bike all year round

handlebar muffs!!!

no re tyre pressures…but we had just done about 60-70 miles without a single twitch, it was just this one roundabout, and on a main dual carriageway i guess it was salted a lot over the past few days…

I went in and she twitched, I thought nah its just a moment and then tipped her in again and away she went…

The more I think about it the more I think I was going even at 30mph too fast for the conditions even though it was warm and sunny I should have thought about the crap on the main roads…but to be fair I have never seen a road like this before, this new stuff they are using to keep the salt on the road is really slippery but looks totally dry…it was very very odd.

Still going to speak to the council…

I would have preferred not to have come off for sure…hopefully she will be fit for the 1st if the parts come as mentioned…I have had a restless night going over and over the event…I should have heeded the first warning when the bike twitched…but there was no evidence to back up the twitch that the road was at fault…a lesson for sure but still not sure what except keep off the winter roads…or ride like all the roads are slippery all the time…

Sorry to hear you have had an off, at least its not going to break the bank to repair it m8 )

Even better, your still walking.
