New rideout

Ooo, ooo, I really must bully my babysitter to look after the girls for me, really wanna come on this one!

Would you mind me mentioning it to some girlies from another forum who are meeting at Box at about the same time? They seem like a really friendly bunch and would probably enjoy a little jaunt and meeting some new peeps.

No problem at all, especially girls…

Only kidding, the more the merrier!

Danno, looks like Sunday matey…Dannyboy suggested in a post 20/11/06…

Yes, Sunday 26th. I have added it to the origional post.

Weather update!!

LIGHT showers but that’s it.

Just one thing chaps… If we are wanting to go to the New Forest I doubt we’ll make it that far with the 125’s in tow. Just thought I’d put that out there, I’m not against the 125’s but if you want to get to the New Forest then we will have to step on it a bit

BETTER TAKE ME OFF THE LIST THEN

It did occure to me that New Forest is a very long trip, which would take several hours. Not a problem in the summer but at this time of year it is going to be getting dark early. We’d be out after dark on unlit country roads. What about just going back to Portsmouth? Then there is always the opition of coming back via A3.

QUOTE Dannyboy: A rough route is as follows-Thanks Lustfish.

From Box hill: A24, A29, A27, A272, Winchester, Romsey, Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, Lymington. Stop for lunch in the Hare and Hounds then back up.

Any questions, let me know.
END QUOTE

I was looking at the route on the map and I’m confused by the A29, A27, A272 section - are we going all the way down the A29 to just east of Chichester to get on the A27? and if so, which route are we using to get back up to the A272?

Or is the A27 a red herring and we’d be leaving the A29 at Billingshurst to go across to Winchester on the A272?

I’m sure everything will be made perfectly clear when we get to Box Hill but I was hoping to get the route into my satnav tonight.

Cheers.

I know I never join the LB rideouts so why do I care & this rideout is happening as I type but isn’t the point of a rideout, riding together as a group stopping 125cc from coming alone, doesn’t seam right or fair esp when the 125 comment is made a day before the actual rideout.

Da Artist

Especially when you plan your weekend so that you are free and looking forward to a whole day riding and you buy some waterproofs in case it rains…

But hey…you live and learn…

Pay em off again then mate and we’ll re-schedule this for next week end.

I was disappointed to read how this turned out for the 125s riders like yourself as it was designed to include you - I will be out and about with Debz on her 125 as soon as weather improves and know others will come - see you then

Guys, before the 125 topic gets out of hand. Heres what happened.

The origional ride was to include everybody and take our time, however (and for those of you who have organised one of these, you will know) I started to get emails/PM’s saying that they thought L’s would make things difficult.

What I decided to do was to put it to the vote. The majority of people chose the longer route that would involve coming home in the dark/using the motorway. Hence difficult for those on L’s. I didnt say anywhere that L’s were not welcome, I always left it up to you.

As I have found out you cant please everybody so I decided to go with the majority. If I had changed it so the route to be suitable for 125’s I would be justifying why I had done that to the other part of the group.

If there is such strong support for 125 rides, feel free to arrange one. I will come along.

I will let the BBC know to contact you in future if they need a hand forecasting the weather.

Ohhhh Dannyboy, (i’m sorry now i have that song in my head…)

I completely understand what you are saying, and i dont put my name down for many rideouts (if any) as i know they will be faster rides and i dont expect people to have to suffer because of my lack of CC’s (for now anyway), i just think that it was a shame that the rideout was not able to accomodate ALL RIDERS as it was first posted…there could have been two routes, or different departure times, or even met somewhere in the middle sometime in the day…maybe a happy medium for ALL thats all mate…

anyway you wussed out at the first sight of a bit of rain…he he

And believe me i know you cant please everyone…

I havent thrown my toys out of the pram, nor do i intend to, I hope everyone had a good day, whatever you did or wherever you went

heres what we did and where we went!

Still waiting for my stick of rock, now which one of you has it

I was merely agreeing that your original idea was a good one and a shame it didn’t happen.

As I said in my previous posts I think all riders can be catered for on the same rideout
