Now what? I forget what we used to do when our money box fills up as kids. Hmmm? That was a loooong time ago mind… I’m not going out to buy a Beano or skateboard.
How much is in there you think?

When I took our money box out we had just shy of £250… used that as spending money on our holiday… I can’t really judge the size of that. Shall I start the bidding at £65
I would keep it and start a new money box (find a jar) until you need it…
i think you have about £80 in there. With that box i’d go to the bank and deposit it - some newer bank branches have machines that count the coins as you throw them in, like Barclays Piccadilly Circus
If we get it right?, is there a prize?
I’d say £33
I have a big sweet jar that i throw anything less than 50p into. Last time i emptied it there was £80+ in there
I reckon you have £120 there banman. To fully appreciate your saved coinage, buy yourself or the Mrs a treat, else you’ll just spend it on petrol, and most probably not recognise the benefit it gave you.
I’ll go with £60. Find out which branch of your bank has a coin machine and take it there. Don’t take it to a Coinstar machine in a supermarket. They fleece you for 7%.
Do banks have these?
Never seen one in a bank, but then again I only ever pop in once or twice a year when some techophobe git/company sends me a cheque!
Some do. I think all Metro branches do, and I don’t think they require you to be paying into a Metro account.
£146 note it at a bank then put in in the bottom of the box and keep saving. Never hurts to have a rainy day fund
I’ll count it tonight.
The coins should give you an idea of scale! That’s my multi function printer behind a 7250 HP or something.
It started life as parking change.
Wow you even throw £2 in there… High roller!
I used to keep those because the reminded me of casino chips.
Now they are in there because just one is so heavy.
Also if you want to park the jam jar for more than 4mins somewhere you really need big coins :-/
And shhh look underneath. I’ve even saved a few shifty Fiver’s under there. Never know when you might need an emergency pint!

I thought that!
I’m a pauper, 5p is the biggest coin a throw into the chump change jar.
That’s what I did to start but actually throwing in the odd £1 or £2 doesn’t feel that bad to your pocket and it quickly adds up
I think I’m going to revise my forecast to £47
I took mine to Tesco, who charge around 10% fee. Ended up pocketing over £200! Had I realised I would have found a free service…
