My bike stolen yesterday Sun Street EC2

My experience of ERS too. I always insure with them direct and dont bother with the broker/middle-men (Carole Nash, Bennetts etc)…

another bike has been stolen from the same bike bay last week

and have the police ever called me back about my bike …not a chance

Fing W**s! (The tea leafs not the police i mean! Buuuutt)

Real sorry for you, I don’t want to experience that sick feeling in my stomach when it dawned on me it’s been nicked. It was the only time I hoped the bike had just been taken to a car pound for some silly parking infringement. Mine was used for a bank robbery then driven in to a canal. The police could not have been more helpful, but that was in Holand.

Im up for it. And I have just the place to stake out. Where my bike was stolen - I reckon another bike there would go in about 3hrs, like mine did…

In the past I’ve had two R6’s stolen (one I got back), both from bike bays in Covent Garden, both with locks.

Usually they just pick the bike up and put it in the back of a van, even if they are challenged they will just say they lost the key to the lock or it’s an HP repossession. The b*stards usually steal a refrigerated van to put the bike in then people don’t hear the alarm going off.

Even the best lock and chain and ground anchor will not stop these scum if they really want your bike. Sportsbikes are popular thefts because they are used at tracks, get damaged and selling the spares on ebay is easier than ringing the bike.

It’s a sick feeling finding your bike has gone and it’s not something the police really care about. I think there is huge potential for a simple, cheap tracker, but the tracker people seem to want to charge a lot of money and an annual ‘fee’ instead of getting more bikers to use their systems.
