Morrissey - what a complete ****

See I take you back to this comment:

“and Sky News are actually giving him a platform to air such views just winds me up.”

To me that is doing exactly what you claim you will not do. That is you having a pop at a private commercial business saying that the fact that they assist in airing such views annoys you.

If enough voices echo that sentiment, do you think that as a private commercial business Sky news would continue, or repeat the episode?

Also, this falling back to the claim that any reference to Nazi Germany belittles the loss of life or the suffering endured is absolute bullshit. It is a way of stifling comparison by saying that any comparison must be a complete and utter comparison of everything that happened.

I can’t say…“oh, those boots look like the boots worn by the Nazis”…without saying that the person wearing those boots is a Nazi, and unless that person is actually guilty of the worst genocide in man’s history, I am belittling the suffering and death that the Nazis caused.

Utter utter tripe.

It is a nice safe fall back position from which to defend from, that has no bearing on reality, and only exists, in this context, to try and make it impossible to make any sort of counter argument.

Once again Kaos you make stuff up to suit the purpose of your “argument”.

When did I say that any reference to Nazi Germany has to be a complete and total comparison?

However by using the word Nazi it is always going to illicit attention and possibly controversy and using it as a cheap way to garner such attention DOES belittle the topic and the memory of those that suffered at the hands of the Nazis.

Ironically if you described someone’s jack boots as being like those worn by the Nazi’s this would be a perfectly normal analogy to draw. If you compare the British public waving Union Jacks at the Olympics to the German public waving swastikas and giving Nazi salutes in 1939 then you are an idiot.

I still stand by my comment that Sky News shouldn’t give a platform to such tripe, because it is nothing more than a cheap publicity stunt and I find the topic used objectionable. That is MY opinion. Funnily enough the majority of people think Morrissey is a c#nt for his comments too. But once again you HAVE to stand on the other side to say your little bit and get everyone to look at you.

I still think you’re a c#nt and siding with Morrissey who is a c#nt makes you a bigger c#nt.

I’m feeling left out of the pedantry so I’ll just leave this here:

Mao Zedong (Responsible for 34,300,000-63,784,000 deaths)

Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin ( Responsible for 23,000,000-60,000,000 deaths)

Adolf Hitler ( Responsible for 6,000,000 deaths)

I also agree that Morrisey talks bollocks but he wrote some good songs in the 80s.

Waxy -

You didn’t answer my question yet…

Do you know why he said what he said?

In order to denounce something, you must first understand the speakers motivations.

That is exactly what you have done waxy.

Morrissey has made a comparison to the the jingoism displayed in Germany and that displayed in the UK at the moment.

You said in return.

“It sickens me when people cheapen the memory of those that died because of the Nazis (I am talking about soldiers etc as well as the 13m who died in concentration camps) to be controversial and get their voice heard.”

What you have said means that you can’t make a comparison about the Nazis, even a singular aspect of it, without encompassing the entirety of what the Nazis did.

Yeah it is a way to get publicity, it is a way to incite conversation and debate. and legitimately so.

He did not accuse anyone of being a Nazi, and he did not belittle the deaths of any of the people that died under their regime.

Oh also to what you said about the Jews being made second class citizens, you mean like this and previous Governments have done to the lower classes of our society, the unemployed and the “chavs”, you see much difference to the way the Daily Mail reports on “Asylum Seekers” and the way the Jews were demonised by the Germans?

No we have not, and I doubt we ever will, reach the level of genocide, but pointing out the similarities in the way that Governments use scapegoats and demonise members of our society for their own political agendas, is an entirely justifiable thing to do, and if invoking the memory of the Nazis helps to bring that to the forefront of the news…good job.

Oh and is Morrissey a tit?

Of course he is, he has been a tit for years.

well yes we all know Morrissey is a dopey old ****, you reminded us well !

He talks bullshit and it gets publicity, all publicity is good publicity if that’s what you live off. The daft old turd had obviously run out of Tofu. Needed a bit of cash. Tofu turns your brain mushy and you start imagining you are in Germany in 1939… that’s exactly it, he’s IMAGINING it. Couldnt tell a Bratwurst from a Hot Dog. Sorry, carry on ranting …

One group separated from the rest, blamed for the problems of a society.

Seems remarkably similar.

I am not comparing the lengths that the administrations went to, I am comparing the fact that the Governments hand in hand with the media pick and choose groups on which to blame problems, so as to divert the attention away from those that actually have control.

I see no difference between the two at all.

If you’re looking for ‘like the Nazis’, look at America first!
