Lock down projects

Finished, very pleased with the result. I like a bit of sewing.

All I need now is somewhere to go.

Just threw away two of those Nexus 7’s been sitting on top of a wardrobe for a few years. Neither would boot up, just flashing/flickering screens. Was going to donate to a hospital for Covid patients to use for video calls.

Top job that

That’s a bloody good job @HBG! Most inner bags take up too much of the interior volume so you can’t pack as much. They look really slick.

Holy moly you guys are talented !
After never knitting before I decided to knit a jumper (go big or go home I say). - actually went a bit too big and it is ginormous, but couple of beanies later I am ready for my next jumper, this time in the round bottom up and a long tailed tubular cast on (yup lots of words I never heard of before too).

What machine do you use to stitch leather? Or is it hand sewn?

Who said this site was like Mumsnet?

I am interested in building some under stair storage. But I want the doors to be really decent like what you get on custom built wardrobes. Any idea where I can order them from ?

All hand sewn. All holes punched beforehand then fairly simple saddle stich.

OHH they look SO GOOD!

Thanks, tasted pretty good too!

Custom built wardrobe companies will do any shape for you. Alternatively you could get a local carpenter to form the opening, fit out the inside and make some doors all out of MDF then get them sprayed.

Yeah, local carpenter should be able to do that. Unless you want to attempt on your own?

@Panagiotis , @HBG I am confident to build the inner draws, that the bits no one sees  Its just for the outer doors. Dont want to just slap piece of MDF on it.

Thanks will ask around see if any knows a good reliable carpenter. :+1:

I’ve contracted one-man-band Peter Wall before. Both for clients and for several little bits and pieces in my own flat. He specialises in wardrobes, cupboards and bookcases.

Actually this example he gives on his web site is one of the installations he did for us many moons ago:
