Just wait until your next pee stop!!!

Wooohooooo!

make sure the new bungs are on then… :stuck_out_tongue:

Awwwch. Only seen this now.
Sorry to hear this, and I hope you get well soon.

I don’t have experience with collarbone but I broke my arm near my shoulder a few years ago in a snowboard accident, and I was too surprised the doctor in Austria recommended not operating if possible. He suggested taking another X-ray after 7 days and seeing if the break had moved, if not he said to leave it alone. That’s what I ended up doing, and looking into it quite a lot at the time, was the best option. If they have to operate in that area to repair bone, they’ll make a mess of muscles and legiments, which means that while the initial recovery period seems shorter (you can move your arm after the opp, instead of having it locked for 6 weeks), it’s shorter as it takes months for the muscles to recover.
So be careful what you do, and be mindful that if you go private, the consultant will benefit greatly from surgery.

yup I’ve got a GP appointment, then an appointment with the fracture clinic at the hospital then one with a BUPA specialist. After Wednesday I’ll know of my options

sorry to hear about ur off gws mate

GWS Alex, hope you are on the mend quickly.

Good to see the damage to the bike is fairly minimal.

that GSR must be the most crashed bike with the least damage ever!

It’s not been down the road THAT often! and always at low speeds!

anyway update on me: went to fracture clinic at cheltenham hospital and they tried to persuade me against op, rather giving me 3 weeks before going back for more x-rays. pain is manageable but been told to keep it in sling and not use it. mostly painful when i wake up in the morning…

the bupa consultant cancelled on me for this afternoon but got another appointment for friday (potentially) but for sure monday.

Problem is no one wants to sign me off work as i have a desk job - the fact i can’t use my right hand seems to not feature as a problem even though most of my work has to do with tyiping of some sort… and the fact they say to rest it? anyway not going to mull over it too much because by monday i’ll probably be gagging for work!!!

anyway staying in cheltenhm for the time being and will see what the consultant says on monday/friday

Put your arm in a sling, type one handed and wait to see if work think it’s worth your while turning up.

It would take me about 5 hours to write an email using only my left hand.
