I WAS DRUNK!

http://web.mac.com/cannonballbikerun/CBR_2011/CBR2011_Home.html

I remember it setting off from London a couple of times, but they obviously get less hassle in other places

yeah read up on this.

doesn’t look half as good as what i’ve got in mind…

Things may have been done before, but don’t let that put you off. Just find a niche to it.

indeed my rally shall be epic.

have you look at the London to Tbillsi rally that Bikergirl400 and zander are going on next month…

i kinda want more of a race from a to b across europe…

Chips if you organise it I’ll be on it…

thank you good sir

You could also hold challenges at each destination. E.g. Fastest lap of the the Ring etc. Points gained go towards an overall tally. Winner gets a fairly significant prize.

What I’m thinking is:

Having stages stopping at places like Nurburgring, Monza, Zurich, Rome, Sardinia, barcelone, pamplona, la rochelle, paris. only ideas atm.

In between each stage have checkpoints which riders must pass through. Aside from that, there is a no-motorways rule, and groups must make their own way to the checkpoints, and they can get there any way they want.

I want to end it at the Menin Gate in Ypres, don’t know why, just fancies it.

There will probably be an entry free (which obviously will be negligible for those of LB!) but this will be strictly not-for-profit and only to cover costs.

That’s all i got atm, it’s all in the pipeline.

SUggestions?

sounds good

Sounds like a Scatter rally. There are a lot of LD riders clubs already organising them, why not join one of them to get a taster.

ill take a peak thanks mark…

Nice idea… though it doesn’t have to be as expensive as the actual Gumball…

http://crumballrally.com/ - whist this one is more a banger rally… you could change the rules a bit… once the plans sounds, get it out there on forums and facebook… word soon spreads for this sort of thing!!

Chipy…

I was enterd into the Cannonball run across Europe and lost £1,000 of my deposit as i pulled out due to the Police impounding bikes…

They got ahold of the route maps and set up sneeky patrols and littrilly hundreds of bikes got seized…some still havent got their bikes back to this date…

Now…this was 2006 and i think my level of riding is some what better what it was back then, so ide be prepared to bolt if my collor were to be felt…

good idea tho…and would be a hoot…

smiled.

Hahaha at 1.59 in thats my brother coming past the camera on the back wheel.

Him and another mate of mine Mark went on the second Cannonball run, managed to acquire around £1000 of fines and the following year Mark had his bike along with 6 others inpounded in Switzerland and it took him nearly 2 and a half years to get it back.

yupyup this is all a chance for me to learn from other’s mistakes

banged out some good ideas with capt. slow last night. really have the drive to make something “like this” happen - although what we’ve got isnt strictly the same style of rally…

It all depends on how you want to go about it. It’s a great idea but do you:

a) start off a small rally with small sponsors and general numbers

or

b) go in big, well known sponsors, high numbers?

I would say the former is probably a better idea than the latter, less risk, easier to handle and quicker to get ball rolling!
