Drei called this afternoon to let me know hes had another off…
He was out on a rideout with some of the other guys from LB apparently…hes ok (lucky B again, or what?) but bike needs seeing to again…
He left a post about it but it has been removed…

Yes, and he end up in the grass.The corner was to sharp for him. To fast corner approach and bang. Handle bar needs to be replace. He’s ok BTW.
Not good. What a weekend. Feel quite happy to be sat in front of the PC and my bike tucked up in bed.
He said the pace was too fast for him, but tried to keep up and took a few corners that he wondered how he made it, but kept trying to keep up with the other guys, met up with this corner, took it too fast and lost the bike…he said he knew something was gonna happen cos of the pace of riding, but he felt he had to keep up…hmmmm know what i would have done …if im EVER out and felt that way? i would slow it down and sod off home !!
I thought the same. No point to ride faster than you can.

Does ask a question about the ride outs, i know there are pepes that can handle high speed etc better than others but no1 likes to admit that they prefer to go slower etc so by others going fast etc is putting others at risk by maybe some people trying to keep up etc, just a thought not a crticism.
I think it is often said to ride within your capabilities. Don’t lay blame with others.
He had slowed his pace to one that he seemed more than happy with. I cant believe he lobbed it when he did. We were getting towards the end of the ride. 
Getting tired was prolly a big factor. Mis-read a very, very tricky bit of road and the rest, as they say… 
Ironically, we got to have some good discussion whilst we waited for the tow truck. Despite what been said recently, I think I was right, he’s a good guy.
Your both right…unfortunately egos and all that come into it when on the bikes and we tend to “try our luck”…but common sense should kick in and tell you that if you wanna live a bit longer, then back off !!!
Im not a slow rider by any means, but i know my place on my bike…i wont take corners esp blind corners too fast just cos the guy in front got away with it…i wont overtake or filter too fast just cos the guy in front got away with it…i dont care if they wanna go off like a rocket and when i turn the corner i cant see em…i have been riding for many years but i still dont class myself “up there” if u like, with the best of em…(if thats the right term)…
Ive had one “big” accident and that was my own fault…mine and a pot hole…ive learnt from that …i dont like coming off my bike !!!

Yes, I met you at the ACE last year and you were telling me about it.
No one on the ride was riding like a loon. Drei said that there were many contributing factors. One of which was being spooked by a car coming the other way a bend or 2 before hand. He actually fell off before the corner, apparently trying to adjust his line at the last minute.
As is often the case when this happens, he may have made a mistake a bend or two before and may not realise that this is where things started to go wrong. We’ve all done it 
With regard the ride, the routes that I use are a real challenge and as discussed before we set off, extreme care is needed as there is a real chance of getting court out. Thats what make the rides worthwhile for me.
I feel bad about Drei falling off, and thank God he is ok. Hopefully it wont put him off joining us again, he may even take up training from the EAMG, but its one thing talking about it when sat on the grass catching some rays waiting for the tow truck, and another getting out there to do the hard work. 
Drei just called to ask if anyone knows where he can get a R/H clip-on and a clock bracket for his K6 600cc GSXR on the cheap?
Oh boy…he must be SO fed up looking for parts for his poor ol bike…bet the bikes saying to him FFS !!!
I was right behind Drei at the time,he had been going allright,we had dropped off from the three boys ahead.His positioning was a bit lacking,probably just down to inexperience on those sort of roads,it was downhill into a good 90 degree left hander and he went in to hot and slid very gracefully into the stinging nettles.
My cunning plan was to watch him and then at the end try to give him a few pointers,mainly positioning for bends.As others have said if you’re not happy with the speed,slow down to your speed,the others will always wait at the next junction.The Gixxer did look a bit sad,but Drei appears quite resilient and I’m sure he’ll back on it soon!!!
Al least his nice new front wheel survived unscathed!!!
Sounds like a lucky one - hopefully only damaged pride, and small cost for those parts Drei requires…got me thinking that there can’t be much left that’s original on the Gixxer!

Hope everything is ok though drei, only wish I was on the ride too.
People seem to be getting caught out by the weather sun = licence to hoon and lose your head.
Take it easy guys, the sunny days are few and far between, but will be even less enjoyable with no bike.

I think maybe having a weekend of sunshine after all this rain has messed with our heads.
Main thing is he’s ok. Take it steady buddy, I’ve not been riding with these guys but I’d rather be left behind than left in the nettles. You’re a controversial bugga, but this board would seriously miss you if you were killed. Please think on that mate as it can easily happen when you’re going too fast for your capabilities. There’s no shame in being safe.
“There’s no shame in being safe” Wise words that I ride by! But I am not sure that’s the case here. I followed Drei for a while. Apart from what Silky, oops! I mean Broady said about positioning and perhaps low vision, Drei was riding quite safely.
I did consider proffering some advice, even getting Drei to follow my lines. Making him go in far slower than he is comfortable with and accelerating harder out of the turns, as it’s a good way to build feedback through the chassis. That will generate confidence. But I was worried about being seen to “lecture” folk on others riding?
