Diary date - Sun 10 Nov, Remembrance Sunday

What plans do you have for eating lunch on this ride? I fancy a Sunday Roast - no freezing cold sandwiches on a windswept pier looking at the frozen sea please

Rusty please explain - what has this picture to do with the Remembrance Sunday rideout? We are confused.com

No idea, looks like sour grapes to me

Hels, was planning on this place

But just seen the menu. Ouch! Prices have shot up since I visited in the summer. May need to find somewhere else.

Red Three reporting in - over - arrived now back at my abode.

Had a very interesting and pleasant day on a nice variety of road surfaces, ranging from tarmac, to gravel and mud. K Pow Trips (my bike) and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

After failing my duties as tail gunner by accidently losing Geoff at a roundabout (he found us again eventually), we continued to have a nice day visiting the war memorials and heading into some interesting woodland lanes (remind me to bring an off road bike next time). The rest of the day went without a hitch. Claire, Jamie and John sadly had to leave us before lunch, followed by Franc.

Lunch was held at about 2.30pm in a very nice pub, with the best roast potatoes known to mankind. See pics below, taken by a member of the public.

Martin and I then peeled off at about 3.45pm and found the M2 home - which was rather chilly. However, singing The Pretenders very loudly kept me warm.

I hope you all got home safe. Good to meet Timmy for the first time and to see the rest of you old timers.

Hels

Great to see you all, I peeled off early to have dinner at home and watch the Moto GP.

I was cold and decided to head home at an undisclosed speed

Got home about 6 after leaving the rest of “The Few” at a McDonalds near Manston.

Thanks for the company, and a special thanks to Hels for tail gunning until lunch, Chris for leading from lunch, and everyone who corner marked. It was a very professional display of marking.

I take the blame for all the muddy bits of Pilgrms Way inside the M25, but the satnav is to blame for al lthe bits outside the M25!

Home safe, thanks for a great day.
Quite enjoyed a bit of time on some more “technical” riding roads.
Only had the front slip on me once, but kept it upright all day (just).

Just looking at my photos. Is it me, or does the sign outside the pub in Detling where we didn’t eat say “We Cook Horse”?

Had a great day. Many thanks to Giuliano for organizing and leading the ride up to the lunch stop. Some of those roads though;) Definitely think my KTM Adventure was the bike to have ! Didn’t have a clue where we were most of the time, only occasionally getting a snap shot of somewhere I recognized.

Pity I didn’t get to chat with Clare and Jaime but it was good to catch up with folks I’ve met before…and to see Gavin at Box Hill before the off.

Cheers.

The Cock House

Hope no one had Lasagna

Home safe around 6.40pm.

The remaining “few” made it to Manston 5 minutes after the museum closed.:stuck_out_tongue:

After hot drinks or in Arts case a Rocky Road McFlurry we annihilated the M2/A2 before taking our leave of Timmy and diving under the Thames, down the A13 and onto the A406.

Art was propositioned at Box by a pair of chaps worn by a lady who wanted a lift to Cobham services but bravely declined the offer.

RAF Kenley.

Lunch at the Sun Inn.

RAF Manston.

Doodlebug.

And it`s nemesis.

Art devours his McFlurry.

Excellent day

Mud, gravel, wet leaves and the odd flooded road, slipping and sliding for most of the day. The Bonne’ finished the day diirtier than a fortnight back when we did 10 fords.

Some quite reflection at Kenley, Detling and Manston

Thanks for the call Guiliano/Jetstreams, Hels for tail gunning, all the photographers and corner markers

Well the place we did eat at was advertising “Buttered baby”

I see Hels is demonstrating the universal signal for “there is one more biker behind you”.
