Should have probably minded my own business but then again if he would have been hit I would have had a nice front row sit of it.
I will make sure to memorise his plate LM60HXR. On the other hand he was in full leathers… must count for something right? Honestly this is why bikers get bad names… wish the Police would see this post and give him a kick up the bum.
Wow, running red light is one thing (well two in this case) but being such an asshole about it… that dude deserves a wake up call. Six points on licence would probably do it
jeez, no helping some people.
I think you was right to say something, he may of genuinely missed it was red if his mind was elsewhere and you saying something might of got it back on track for the rest of the ride.
Can’t hear the audio… but yup I’ve done this a couple of times unfortunately… usually been at pedestrian junctions and I’ve not paid enough attention/ been too busy on other things etc
Though in most cases will realise it as I’m going through and just concentrate more for the rest.
I can understand when people do that after the light just changed. Coming too fast hard to slam brakes on but he did it waaaay after it turned red. I can only imagine what would have happened if another biker would have came from the other direction at speed.
Interesting is that he did stop at the following red light:) I should have asked him did he stop on this light. As soon as he said SO? I thought whatever… but he just kept going on.
meh. many folks have this in built thing when they are challenged; defend themselves or be apathetic to it. probably the same ones who try to duck, shut their eyes and run when they’ve done something they might just be able to get away from.
i would have just bitten my lip and kept my distance. could have turned nasty, fellow biker doesn’t equal friendly. besides its no-one elses job to enforce the law, and if he’s happy to run a red light (maybe mistakenly) he might be happy to give you a wallop for challenging it.
on another note… dont tailgate through a green light peeps. one of my pupils stopped dead on a green light today, nothing i could do about it. She is a full licence holder, was got distracted.
Why you had to make a point of telling him he’d run a red-light I don’t know. Didn’t really have much to do with you tbh. If it had endangered you specifically then fair enough.
But to me it seems like you are just being a bit of a busy-body when it wasn’t necessary. Should he have jumped the red-light? No. Was he a rude twat to you? Yes
Was it any of your business? No.
What did you expect him to say? “Ooh thanks very much. I am such a silly-billy!”

In this specific case he put in danger anyone having right of way , any pedestrians crossing andanyone right at the front of the lights, me, the cars and the bikers. If he would have had a go at me I would have defended myself and then put his ass in jail. Plenty of evidence on the camera to do that no?
I know plenty of people that live in Ilford and use that crossing, including my wife who changes buses there. Saying that it had nothing to do with me is pretty stupid… since it could have had plenty to do with me if he did hit anyone I knew or had a bad accident and his bike bounced back my way. Also I could have been a police/mi5/ambulance etc employee on my way to work and just pointed out that he did a mistake.
It is a gray area but just shrugging it off is what is screwing up this country.
Too many people are becoming ignorant to the crap that goes around them and they do absolutely nothing about it. No ones business until someone gets hurt… I rather prevent it if I can.
+1. The idiot could have stolen the bike (which might explain his disregard for the law) and he might have been tooled up - you might have got a lot more than just a few swear words. You caught it in camera which is enough, but challenging someone like that could turn out nasty.
Agreed, but I guarantee you if you give this footage to the police they will also do nothing about it. So, if the police do nothing about this sort of stuff where does that leave everyone else?
Im sorry but seems to me he told you where to
go an you shut up now your on the net talking about your power to do something about it , look forward the post a day about the cager on the phone or the kid that dropped a sweet wrapper just saying …
Wow, not really the response I was expecting to this video.
I bet if that was a car driver caught on film, you’d all be on the band wagon about him jumping the lights and having no respect for bikers moving through the junction. I agree that you’d be a loon to consider making a citizens arrest for this, as the police would probably just laugh, but Andrei’s right to have pointed it out to him, he asked a very simple question, do you know you ran a red. He wasn’t aggressive or anything, just a simple question. The blokes response tells you everything you need to know about him.
It’s funny really, nearly every day on here, someone has a story about what a car driver did to them, or did, or stopped them from doing. But for some reason, because this guy is on a bike doing it, it’s ok?
Random
Did it make a difference to Andrei’s journey, no, because nothing went wrong. Did his actions have an impact on any car drivers and their views on bikers, I would say absolutely. If we want some respect and courtesy on the roads, we have to give some back and doing things like running clear red lights really doesn’t help.
last night going home from blackheath tehut i was on the A2, there was a load of youths in a small car purposly dawdling and speeding up again even lane changing stopping me from overtaking, so thinking that this world has more arsholes than decent people i held back and slowed down so i was a fair distance away from them. the whold driving style seemed antagonistic to me…
i felt it better to take a deep breath amd hold back than confront them with verbal abuse and beeping of my horn.
same with that biker. i like to feel other bikers feel theres a “band of brothers” community with all bikers, but i know thats not reality so whilst i agree with you actions i would not have questioned him myself in fear of my own cotton wool enclosure
