Da Gixxer, Da pain, Da... well just Da okay

It’s all bike porn mate, keep it coming

Step away from the tyre pen!

I can vouch for Imageworks decals. Had an import Thundercat which I threw down the road. I gave them a damaged panel with the decal on and they replicated brilliantly.

Pity I f**ked up one off them putting them on myself!

Kenny and idea how much the decal that says 600 on are bikes would cost, I still have not sent the guy that email for a quote.

not sure on a single decal but the full xerox kit fitted by them on my T9 which took a full day to fit £150 all in, and when the did the whole left side and nose cone when i had my off was £60

so for a small decal no more than a tenner

see i got to the point in the end

Thanks for the info but I now have other plans for the tail end

No idea bruv for small declas. To be honest it was 3 years ago now so really cannot remember I paid for the whole set.

With how popular Gixxers are they’ve probably got these on file and they’re probably quite cheap.

Okay the tail unit came on friday so before I start getting lazy I think its time I started putting my baby back together… wish me luck

Anyone with any more clip-on changing tips feel free to shout them out YOKE/CLIP-ON’S

So what did I do this evening… I removed the damaged indicator which ment removing the OEM tail tidy, damn what a difference it makes not being there It’ll never go back on.

I also swaped the lock and rear light from the old tail unit to this lovely new one and replaced the scratched seat cowl with a fresh crisp item

Tomorrow ill remove and replace the damaged R&Gs and then work my way forward adding on the new parts, hopefully the switch gear would have arrived in the post before lunch time.

Oh Mr Sheen is our friend… before I could even start putting the seat unit on I had to get out the hover and then wipe my frame down from head to toe with Mr Sheen the spiders in my garage decided to use my ride as there own personal play ground while she was off the road

More updates as they happen

Couple of questions DA. Have you got workshop manual or something similar or are you just finding out as you go along? Seem to remember seeing you can get one on CD off eBay, just wonder if you had a spare copy

My bike came with nice tail tide and small plate but BIG ol OEM indicators. Half way through fitting some mini LED indictors. They are flashing away like mad little bees so think I need buy a new Relay, just not too sure where it is

You are lucky having a nice garage. When I get home after work I have about an hour of semi gloom then a crapy torch… easier to get them done on the weekend when at least there is a bit of daylight

Oh and GET RID OF THAT STANDARD FOOTREST HANGER… Thats and order!

Hi Nuts they have not done a manual for my baby yet so I am finding my way as I go but so far it has been pretty easy and with people like Jay to answer any questions I have it just gets easier, I have seen the CD on eBay and a few customers from the shop have told me there worth having, I will get one but think the bike will be back together first.

Do you have both indicators wired up right?
If its still flashing its nuts off I can order & post you a relay Hien Gericke sell them.

Nuts my dads a car mechanic so I managed to get a few of his old tools together and as he has moved out I have both garages to myself

Some picx coming…

Oh I will don’t worry, think ill go for a Sato hanger.

Thanks Gareth im doing fine at the mo but if I do need any manual info ill give you a shout.

Haynes were the guys I was talking about they are years behind!

[EDIT] Gareth what do I need to remove that odd shaped yoke bolt?

Why the odd shapes Yoke bolt tool of course :stuck_out_tongue:

BIG BOYS TOYS

Pic:19 Die R&G’s die
Pic:20 Now thats one serious saw
Pic:21 Could now see enough of the bolt to get it off

Well what an eventfully evening tonight has been, I left work early just so I could get more garage time and in that time I managed to rid my baby of those F-in bent R&G crash bungs, fit my new OEM rearsets (gilles on de-way) remover the yoke, replace the damaged clipon and clutch lever.

The cotton reel bung was as easy as pie to remove on the way home I had this idea of getting a slighter smaller than need allen key fill the bolt with super glue and hope the glue would hold allowing me to turn the slightly round bolt.
But once in front of the bike I had a better idea… I used an allen key slightly larger than needed and hammered it in to make it fit then removed the crash bung as normal.

The main crash bung however was a pain in da arse, first I tried to chisel the nylon part of the bung off hoping to gain access to the blot with no joy (R&G’s are as tough as dry sh!t) then I attempted to drill it off but the battery in the drill was near dead and im far to impatient to wait for it to charger so I went looking around the garage for something else and found Da Saw maaan my dad has some neat toys… anyways I cut the nylon off the bung gained access to the bolt head and the rest along with the crash bungs are history

Pic:22 Cotten reel crash bung off, new OEM rearsets on
Pic:23 Another BIG BOYS toy

Picture 22 shows the new rearsets in place, the guy on eBay never sent me the gear shifting rod so ones on its way from the lovely guys at YSL Kenton.

Picture 23 Is me with another Big boys toy after realising that the flower shaped bolt only needed a standard spanner to remover it I got the yoke off replaced the clipon and lever but managed to scuff that beautiful flower bolt when putting it back on even though a cloth was used, so ill order another one tomorrow

Looking damn sweet fella

Gareth, do think you could tell me the location of the Relay for indicators? I thought it would be in the tail but it doesn’t seem to be there. It would save me a bit of time pulling fairing, tank off etc.

DA I am going to send back front mini indicators as one has a blob of solder in it so I might as well get the relay from chap I bought them from… if I can find it to figure out what type to get

Could you get me a couple of those Akrapovic Decals though?
