Well as most of you know in June I sent my baby sliding down the road and busted my leg, well legs are cheap and I can always get a new one but my baby was so hurt I could know longer keep her in my bedroom so she was relegated to the garage (like any ugly girl should be lol), well my legs on the mend I got myself a job in a bike shop and made some good contacts.
I now have a highly recommend mechanic coming over to my home to check my babies ok late next week but first I have to strip her down to skin and bone
So here it goes!
P.S. Thank you to all the LBers who signed my card, I still have it
I was back in front of the PC with in 20mins, all I did was move the bike into the middle of the garage and place her on the paddock stand it was surprisingly easy for a guy with a broken leg… here are the picx I said I would never take!
Pic1 Fairing and engine casing damage, R&G bung now makes a great door wedge Pic2 Scuffed mirrors, sucffed indicatiors, clutch lever, clip-on and switch gear destroyed Pic3 Tank dented, swingarm bobbin worked (Tank maybe be the only repaired part if I cant find a new painted one in time)
Pic5 Rear seat fairing scuffed and scratched along with the seat cowl, seat cowl was removed by me and never put back Pic6 R&G swingarm crash bobbin worked it saved the arm with a lil help from my rear peg rearset bent and broke just like my leg but Lifes still good
Every part I have mentioned had to be rebrought… Im so poor now but shes worth every penny!
Thanks Jay like I said I have nearly all the parts sitting in my room at the moment, the new job was just something to do to pass time while I heal the fact that I get to talk about bikes and get discount on the stuff I want is just a bonus, Its also funny how the broken leg look fits so nicely in a bike shop.
I do have two small problem though, when I go back to my regular job I don’t want to give up working at the shop, how will I fit it all in second problem is my garage is as dusty as hell a problem I never had in my bedroom, looks like ill have to get a cover from work tomorrow
Well this evening I started peeling off the fairings and have left the bike with only the nose cone and rearset left to come off, does anyone how I get the thin bar between the rearset and bike off, is it just a case of gripping it with pliers and spinning it until it comes off?
B Thanks mate, she preety and track day ready soon
Pic6 Stripping her down, new parts in the back ground Pic7 ‘CLEAR’ battery is as dead as a dead battery, ill get her up and kicking tomorrow Pic8 What a mess
I love that feeling when you take apart a broken bike and then put it back together again with brand new parts - almost like you are helping it grow again (yes I like plants too…).
As far as I can tell Thanutz she starts first time now the battery if charged and sounds perrrfect had her running for 15mins this evening.
Pic11 Managed to get the nose cone off tonight, ill keep it in one peace till the new one is ready to go on Pic12 My in garage entertainment and motivation Pic13 My Oxford Oximizer and my batteries best friend, it took 12hours but it slowly brought my battery and bike back to life, the bike started first time like the green like on the Oximiser said it would
I wanted a track focused bike something along the lines a BSB WSB bike etc, while on another forum a member pointed me towards this on eBay and as it was going for £25 under the OEM part I needed so I brought it what do you all think???
Is it nice, to bling or just plain OTT? (Be honest)
