Commute Bike

I will point you guys to this post:

Which is becoming more of a discussion than a wanted ad:)

So if you see anything on eBay or other palces let me know.

Basically I am looking for a good commute that will beat what I pay now in travel. Using a bicycle for 30 miles every day… not sure I want, plus I am looking at over £300 for a decent bike anyhow.

So far it is around £50 a week, round that to £200 a month which makes it around £2400 a year, this is money I waste and get nothing out of it, money which I pay Tax on which I don’t see or enjoy.

So I decided to waste that money on a motorbike instead:) at least that way I will have something.

how about this kwak gt550? seems decent enough to me.

:slight_smile:

Ha ha… if I was about 60 I would be tempted:))

lol its in good condition and there tough bikes. well upto the commute mate :slight_smile:

or you could just use your gsxr or has that gone?

No still got it but didn’t fancy bad backs and trying to look over cars, also not being able to see the traffic lights when changing as my head is too low:) plua it ian’t very economical… specially trying to keep a GSXR at low revs… bloody nightmare:)

SORTED :D:D:D:D:D

Choprocker John is selling his Bandit for £1600, its in good condition and well up for the job.

Bandits are cheap and reliable, trouble with buying a 6 is they are only marginally cheaper than the 12’s. Yammie XJ’s are also donkey like commuters. Depend on what floats your boat really.

Hmm can I see a photo of it? and some info?

Looking for something that will be OK doing only 30-50mph so my GSX is not really there, 2nd 3rd gear only? yeah right:)) too many cameras on my way in…

I been looking at streetfighters and some supermotos, most of the ones I saw at good prices are outside London or up North:(

Look in the bikes for sale section. For the £1600 asking price, you could afford to change it up a bit, maybe put some usd’s and a new set of yokes on it? :smiley:

Hmm… for almost 2k maybe I could get one of these?

only read this:

I did post in the Supermoto section asking if anyone knew anything about them but no answer…

I see a few at £1000 2nd hand… just wondering what kind of mileage you could do on thme before going bust:)

Pretty sure Rhalf at SBK has one of these as I always see it when I’m down there - give him a calland see what he thinks.

Looks excellent, the only problem i’d have with that is how he explains it’s still financed. I wouldn’t give him any money until it had been cleared.

Maybe a phone call’s in order?

Hi, I’m thinking of selling my bike which is a Suzuki GS500 ‘58’ plate with full suzuki service history and recently serviced with new chain and Bridgestone tyres.

Im looking for £2300 and will prob put it in the for sale section soon.

If you are interested you can PM me. I am located in west london near Heathrow.

You want a Hayabusha with nitrous …

Err, that’s a joke …

Not much choice at around the £2000 target.

So far this is my list:
Yamaha Fazer, XJ, XT660X;
KTM 640, 520, 525 ,Duke;
Husqvarna 610;
Husaburg 650;
Suzuki Bandit, SV DR-Z 400, GSXR 400, GSF;
Honda VFR, Hornet, CB 400;
Kawasaki ER-6N, C8 SMoto;
Any Streetfighters in general.

Not that much choice then… :wink:

Still hard finding them at under £2500

Cheapest thing is the GSXR 400, found a few at around the £1000 or under with around 17k miles.

Anything about them? Saw a few videos and looked like fun:) little gixers… I am just debating if I am going to fork out £1k then not be able to use it:)

Struggle to beat a Fazer for that money i reckon.
Spend £2k on a good Fazer, then get a scottoiler, crash bungs, heated grips and a pipe.

Job done.

Oh -thought the list was ones you had seen, not ones you wanted :slight_smile: I would probably steer clear of the gsxr400 for what you want, the parts will be hard to find and home maintenance wont be as easy as others.

As said, a fazer/bandit type thing would be best for you at that price, there should be loads around…hehe in 30 secs found this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2000-YAMAHA-YZF-THUNDERCAT-BLACK_W0QQitemZ190338056644QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycles?hash=item2c510841c4&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14does everything you need mate ;)And what about this, even more perfect I would say…http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1996-SUZUKI-RED_W0QQitemZ140345336538QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycles?hash=item20ad3be2da&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

you could get a decent cbr600f for that money i had a 2000 and that was cheap as chips to run. and did 180 miles on one tank:)
