Brown Sauce? Salad "Cream"?

Mole’s Sincere’s poll has me thinking…What the heck is brown sauce? Or salad “cream”?

Brown sauce - allegedly a fruity sauce, its mostly sugar and vinegar with a slightly spicey (not chilli, just spciey) hint to it

Salad cream - Mayonnaise with loads more vinegar than normal mayonnaise.

England’s answer to tasty recipes…the same greasy food with sweet vinegary sauces on it. :smiley:

toby has it about right. However The brand is all important.Heinz Salad Cream (they stopped making it a few years ago but had to bring it back because of complaints - Good old UK sorting the things that matter the most!!!)HP Sauce (THE brown sauce)

Another absolute delight I discovered recently was Nando’s Peri-Peri Ketchup - fookn superb !
