There’s a strange variety of bikes at track days, I remember at Snetterton a few weeks ago where I easily overtook a chap down the straights only to have him come past me on the corners . . . on a CB500 :w00t: A bit embarrassing really but he was hanging off while the bike bounced around, he had a great time.
yeah that’s easy on the rear shock but the forks are unadjustable :crying: only way i can firm them up is changing the springs and/or oil (i think). and could do without that really! should be ok as it is as i don’t suppose i’m going to be demanding too much from the bike
humm wow I didnt realise that… but it should not be a massive issue you will have an absolute riot anyways, the amount of grip and space is a different league to the road.
Adrock, If you still need a paddock stand nearer the time then give me a reminder and I’ll bring one along. They’re only necessary if you’re changing wheels or using tyre warmers otherwise just use the sidestand…like I do:)
Yes it’s a good idea to concentrate on technique and don’t worry about the handling too much at the moment. There’s all shapes and sizes of bikes out there and plenty with very limited suspension adjustment.
have no fears mate. the standard suspension although soft is absolutely fine even at the very limit of adhesion. Trust me…i’ve had to run standard hornet forks before and still been at the front in the hornets.
As for a CB500 overtaking folks…it is a regular occurance on trackdays and test days for some of the CB guys to be out there dominating the power ranger squad. With lap times like 1min44 round cadwell park its no wonder really…awesome riders on ratty old dog bikes.
Les from the workshop might be up for this day too:cool: You’ll love it Gaz, now don’t start tampering with your bike in the meantime and breaking it;) Don’t worry, I’ll spend a bit of time with you. You’re can sounded fine to me;)
Adrock, I’ll spend a bit of time with you too. After that it’s just a case of building up gradually, learning the circuit and getting comfortable on the bike. You’ll find new levels of lean angle but keep the braking and throttle application a smooth action.
If ever you feel uncomfortable or it’s too fast and dangerous then it probably is.
i think this is a case of the USUAL SUSPECTS as i`ve just booked it :P:D:D;)
i know i said b4 that i didn`t want to brands again this year but i wana get greaham hill bend sorted as last year i had a very big slide and it knocked me confidence sumwat
