So he is keeping his election promises!
I cant quite believe it - and there was me saying itâll never happen! What a twat I feel right now.
Wheres my hat?
cool beans!
COOL
Iâm gladâŚ
Was one of the reasons he got my voteâŚ
woohooooooo
sooner the better :D:D
Good old Boris.
Next step - get rid of bendy buses.
Nice one! Now all we need is the timetable to show when this will happen and all will be well! (as far as the tfl controlled bus lanes are concerned)

yes, the time schedule is the one thing that is missing from the blurb. However I think weâve seen that Boris does not hang about with things, so hopefully something will happen by the end of the year.
" TfL does not yet have a timescale for implementing the scheme."
I will believe it when I see it.
Boris is still a mopheaded twit.
But Tom Bogdanowicz of the London Cycling Campaign said that TfLâs first report was âwrongâ. He told the Standard: âLCC advises against making any snap judgement on putting motorbikes in bus lanes based on what TfL has said. TfL says the data showed potential âdis-benefitsâ to pedestrians and cyclists. Many cyclists find bus lanes a refuge from high-speed and unpredictable motor vehicles.â
unpredictable motor vehicles. : what like jumping off and on pavements, breaking redlights, one way signs etc âŚwhat an idiot
This is definitely a step in the right direction.
Although he appears to be a nobber, I think Borisâs heart is in the right place:)
Boris is a cyclist and does not appear to be phased by PTWâs being in Bus Lanes, and he does not appear to be influenced by the rabid cyclist lobby. Good on him!
As I said above, time schedule to be arranged, but he will make it happen.
This is good news, but i am unhappy about being clubbed in with scooters in this (they couldnt even produce a picture of a bike - its a scooter). Not all scooters are bad riders (just like not all bikers are good riders), but a significant proportion are, in my opinion (no lifesaver, no indication, not stopping for zebra crossings etc). At least there is a relatively decent test that bolsters the bike rider. I just dont want this to be jeopardised by those that do not understand or follow the basic rules of the road. Those who have not taken a test aimed at two-wheeled machines, may not have enough common sense to ride respectfully to cyclists. It will only take one accident where fault is disputed for there to be protestsâŚ
Plenty of people who choose to ride scooters HAVE taken their test, and take a great deal of concern about riding safely and considerately.
Can we stop this blanket âall scooter riders are crapâ please?
It would be just as mindless as, for instance, saying that all women riders donât know what theyâre doing.
Youâll be trying to convince us that zim-zimma riders are not knobs next.
really glad to read this! ![]()
exactly what I was about to say superoli!!
Can you re-read my post please and note that its not blanket. Ive said not all scooters and Ive also said not all bikers are good riders either. It was carefully balanced before I posted it. I gave you that respect. Now please give my opinion some.
If I knew what you meant, I might do.
Or should someone just change the name of this site to âLondonGEAREDbikersbutnotBMWswithpanniers.comâ and Iâll be on my merry way?
I agree with Powerpuffâs comments - I was a liability on L plates. I thought lifesavers were sweets until I took my test.
