Best mod

As the title says…

Whats the best mod you’ve done to your bike either performance or style wise?

The R1 I’m currently riding is totally standard and this is the first time I’ve left a bike totally standard. Alot of the reason being I can’t risk a tug from the fuzz… but… I’m also more aware that my abilities are well below the abilities of a standard bike and as such couldn’t really see the benefit of most performance mods.

The only performance mod that has really worked for me in the past and now is losing a few stone in weight.

I’m not knocking anyone that makes mods to their bikes, just wondering if they’ve got what they wanted from their chosen mods.

The exhaust change from standard on my cat gave a better pull through the rev range and made it look a lot nicer (sound was about the same cos it is road legal and non-removable baffle)

But other than that it was trackdays, bikesafe and advice from others that was the best performance mod…

I love my rear sets and levers. More for the way they look than anything else! At least I’m honest :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually, the levers do serve a purpose cos I’ve got small girl hands and they’re fully adjustable

Akrapovic and a stage 3 on my xjr improved the bhp to a stonking 130 to the rear wheel.

Think I’ll have to give this some thought

Bikesafe. Heated grips (definitely improves my performance all through the winter if I can feel my fingers:D ). Topbox (which means I can now use my bike to do all sorts of tasks and I don’t need a car). And the little sticker that says I’ve paid the road tax to drive it in Switzerland (because I think it makes me look cool in the car park  )

Bike performs better since it got serviced

Best Mod has been me learning to ride better.:w00t:
Have been riding for many years, but would never have considered any advanced riding till coming to the UK. Done Bikesafe, have some training videos and books. No track days or formal training -yet.

Bike performance has greatly improved.

Can’t believe there hasn’t been a mention of a londonbikers.com sticker yet.

Paying £40 to get suspension set up for me!

That’s the best money I spent on the bike.

The £350 I spent on new rear shock after finding original unit was fooked:)

For tarting purposes - the end can looks and sounds great! Cost £30

Braided Steel Goodridge/H.E.L. Brake lines, Improve feel…

Oh and Crash Bungs…

ME TOO! was that the Handywork of B?

It’s gotta be Rim Tape, Alloy Valve Caps, Anodized Bar Ends and a Helmet Mohawk:D

Failing that I’d get me bike down to Brian (B) to get the sussies sorted:)

I’m finding it very disturbing to know that your going to Brian for advice on hosiery.

My Diamond Racing rear sets, they are in race shift. 1 up and 5 down, I ride much better like this to the point I do not understand why all bikes do not come standard like this:unsure: I have to also mention my sprockets 1 tooth down front, 2 up rear. I like ALL my other mods especially the carbon fibre body works. next is a steering damper and power commander:D

Oo i forgot me mods!:w00t:blueflame evo twin port 'zorst…tis the nutts kiddie! baffle less of course:w00t:

my black screen i just…well…like:D and the best mod of all…

MY 46 STICKERS!!! eaisily adds…oh…15-20bhp:cool:oh!!! and i had my suspension set up by B…he a genius ya know…

Sussy set up is the best of all the mods on any bike I have had

a crash bars for my fazer 1000. paid themselves off in an instant. plus was an enhanced confidence.

same as many of the above plus

switching to rear 55 profile tyre - more aggressive handling (not to mention getting the sh*tty OEM dunlops off and 2CTs on)

CRG levers so i can use 2 fingers on the clutch/brake

mod i really want to do - 1/5th quick action throttle (looking into this at the mo)

Only mods ive done are Smaller indicators rather than the original HAM SHANK sized indicators and Micron Exhaust with Baffle Removed.

Bikesafe and track days have given me tonnes of confidence…

However, i am interested in this…B who is and where is he?

Suspension set ups certainly seem to be one of the best mods I’ve made.

My old RSVR had an uprated rear shock to handle my girth  and it was immediatly noticable improvement.

With the PC3, open pipes, sprockets swaps, wire snipping etc things were like “OMG!! What a result” but as for making things any easier or controlable…lol. The suspension sets worked pretty much straight away and I felt loads faster (whether or not I was is another matter!):
