Have a look in the trackdays forum, he hangs around there a fair bit - his forum name is B, real name Brian and is a suspension guru, and will sort yer suspension issues out for you for a reasonable sum, give him a PM.
One off Tubed single sided swingarm, ISR radial master cylinders, one off subframe with water running through it, 250 section rear wheel, yokes with no pinch bolts the decisions got to be me Renthal grips :D:)
fake stick on Carbon, Shiny stuff and LED’s…:P:P mwuhahah
Seriously, 99% of people can’t ride to the full abilities of a standard, out of the box, sportsbike so pretty much all mods (apart from some suspension finagling by someone who knows what they are doing like B by the sounds of things) are just for looks.
Anyone who says different is a fibber.
My road bike (GSXR750K7) is completely unmolested except for rear pegs taken off and plate hanger.
My track bike has Akky exhaust (sounds nice, no noticable performance improvement), Brembo m/cylinder and braided lines. The braking system changes were made as I got a bit of sponginess and fade on trackdays. They are now much much better.
The best mod I had was when PDQ fitted a dynojet kit for my 1995 carbed fireblade. It showed at one point on the power curve a 14HP increase.
That’s not possible now as the fuel injection is so common, and fuel so well, the gains now are much smaller.
The bikes are so good nowadays I prefer to spend money keeping the bike in a good state of repair, most importantly Brakes, Tyres and the usual general servicing.
Thanks for the compliments those who I’ve seen
One of the most overlooked things in my opinion is suspension set up, in particular sports bikes, there’s a surplus of power that few of us can use but a well set up bike will make it more possible and more fun.
Totally… All the bikes I’ve ever owned have never been shipped from the factory with the intention of performing to its best with an 18 stone rider onbaord, yet loads of “big” people spend daft money on performance enhancing mods when a properly suited rear shock and fork revalve would give them much better results.
Yes there’s no one size fits all even with the std kit when it comes out of the showroom, we’re all different shapes, sizes, and ride at different intensities. All the same there’s no right or wrong with aftermarket expensive mods, we all like to look nice even if we go no quicker;)
K&N filter, Quill Can (loosing cat) BSD carb tune up (Pilot jets) and disconecting the PAIR system. (You lose all the lumps and bumps in the power created by damn EEC meddlers). Power is so smooth and linear now. 88bhp.
