Attempted theft outside metropolis vauxhall

Was parked up for a few minutes. As I came out saw my bike going down the road, trying to jumpstart it I reckon. Charged the guy and knocked him off. But he got away with his mate on the scooter.

Third guy on an R6 rocked up, balaclava under his helmet. Hung about a little and then rode off. In the heat of the moment didn’t realise he was probably involved.

Scooter reg was something like:

PJ3 NCA

or

PI6 NCA

It is getting ridiculous out there…

I don’t think I’ll be riding into central London again unless its directly to secure NCP parking or something.

No one is safe these days. Even taxi got a hit http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/taxi-drivers-windscreen-smashed-in-terrifying-ambush-as-he-stops-at-croydon-junction-a3323836.html

It's a shame they did not get hit by that on comming car!

We should have the Philippine Duterte as our mayor to focus on this scooter scum. Good on you for foiling the robbery but that will probably leave a long impact on you (paranoia).

what bike you have? was the bike chained/locked? was it parked on the main road or pavement?

sorry about all the questions but i was parked there a couple of weeks ago and this is making me very uncomfortable.

With hindsight I really only have myself to blame. I figured I’d only be 5 minutes at most, so I didn’t bother with locking it up. Just a bit shocking that 5 min was all it took for some *&%$££ER to come by and spot it and break my steering lock, which I’ll now have to claim for.

Was parked in the street parking, right here:

Yep, seems everyday theres a post like this, had a friend fighting off a gang at a petrol station the other day, CID finally got in touch, checked the cctv, long story short , nothing the police can/will do.

Aren’t they invariably on stolen bikes or fake plates though? So short of actually stopping them in the act and restraining them there’s nothing the cops can do, CCTV doesn’t seem that helpful when they are helmeted AND wearing balaclavas underneath. Should have restrained him, reckon I could have done it, but then there are always those scary stories of acid/knives/whatever. So probably not worth it in the end.

Bait bike.  Come on coppers, get a bait bike operation.

If someones willing to risk their bike. I’ll be there to help apprehend and “subdue” them until the cops arrive.

If they are on stolen bikes surely these scum bags should be getting pulled over by ANPR?

Big brother everywhere in London so i don’t understand how these little scroats keep getting away…

Damn, just realised I park there sometimes when I’ve visiting a few clients I have that way! as above seeing this on a daily basis now.

That does it. I’m going to squeeze 2 more disk locks under my seat.

my bike was parked on the pavement so it almost looked like one of them for sale. it was not intentional, but the bike bay was full so i though, fuck it.  i was only in the shop 5 minutes myself, and it took longer to lock up than to do what i came for, but apparently i could have not found the bike on my return so it was worth it i guess.

Its not the cops’ fault - if they catch them the courts can’t or won’t give them anything like the punishment they deserve and the little shits know it.

Should we all train and volunteer to be magistrates??

It's down to the sentencing guide lines that the Magistrates have to follow, have a read here https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/SC-Theft-Offences-Definitive-Guideline-content_FINAL-web_.pdf

Does anyone use any trackers? Any recommendations? Considering getting something. The paranoia has fully set in. http://www.visordown.com/features/products/new-oxford-gps-motorcycle-tracker looks decent, question is where I could hide it on the bike
