hey all,
whats going on with the ace at the mo?, i first sarted going there a few months back there was stunters everywhere! now its very quite and sombre, why? i did think well it is winter now…but that cant be theonly reason? can it?..
the ace have been told that they are making to much noise,and the locals are moaning as are the post office lorries.so the police are always popping in and out now. and before you go saying bloody police maybe it the people lining the streets and the stunters that are making it harder for the ace.
i did think that, just didnt want to say it…no i wont say bloody police, they have a job to do and yes when it is lively there it can be very dangerous, i was just curious…
The Ace was busy on Friday and very quiet.
Yesterday, (Saturday) very quiet…
The stunters are a pain in the arse; as usual, a few show-offs ruining it for everyone…
I was at the ACE on Friday too and apart from one guy being told off for lighting up his tyres in the car park and another guy dropping/crashing his bike whilst trying to pull a wheelie on the road outside it was a pretty tame night in comparison to some of the nights i’ve seen there on a Sports Bike Night…

They might get more customers inside if they played proper music, all they seem to play is old rock, Elvis or some similar ancient stuff

The Ace is busy enough when I go there, about 2-3 times a week, sometimes mid-day.
I do wish the wannabee on-road stunters would eff-off, they do not help the licence applications etc for the Ace.
IMHO the best presence there is the Police bikers. Bikers first, Police second, but won’t tolerate fools, thank deity.
Yep it was busy enough Saturday when we popped in for some breakie… nice to see you again Jim. It’s always busy during the day with the reps, drivers and locals having lunch.
Maybe they could set up a cordoned off stunt patch (unassociated with the Ace but within watching distance) to keep everyone happy ?
I have got to say this is same argument since I got into biking legally in the UK…
Ace cafe started the ‘ton up’ club… riding bikes at their limits with unsafe protection and a danger to everyone. So please don’t ever preach that the world should be sensible.
I agree that the wannabe stunters shouldn’t be practising there. They are a hazard to themselves and to me (maybe some other road users too but seeing as I’ve started a rant I’m going to be selfish).
The ace has got quieter as far as noise and stunting as the main people responsible (and most of you know who they are… if not I have photos, lol) have come to agreement with the Ace Cafe management (Mark threatened a steel toe cap in a few arses) so they do not ‘perform’ unless prebooked and paid to do so.
Exception is the odd dramatic entrance/exit or bike ‘test’.
This does not mean the stunting does not go on, and a following occurs ‘near-by’ without passing through traffic and in an area where traffic laws have no jurisdiction (as in, it’s private).
Cool, I think if read in whatever way you shouldn’t, this post should annoy a fair few people.

i wasnt saying i miss the stunting and that it should go on, i mean pulling out of the ace car park can be so dodgy when people are stunting, seen lots of near misses…
its far better to meet there, and go elsewhere to play about…
The ace was on road wars/police camera action programme the other night and it was not bikes they were showing was the boy racers that go there for car nights, they too burn up and down the road with shlt loads of peeps lining the road, now that looked like an accident waiting to happen, more so than any bike action.
See wot pepes are saying bout the stunters etc but the police should distinguish the road from the ace car/bike park,the pepes at the ace have no control on the road, they could suggest to pepes but thats it but the ace is gonna get the balme for noise on the road, I know pepes turning up for said event at ace are using the road for wotever.
Basically pepes using the road should have some consideration for the ace cos it aint gonna last much longer if not.
However stupid some peeps may be in their eye’s you/we are the audience and they just can’t help but entertain us…Imagine if nobody watched and all turned your back to the road and didnt jeer them on it’d be a quieter place:D Oh and while i’m on the subject i’m bl**dy sick of pulling up at lights on the 406 on the way to the ace and having a car load of foreigners pull up alongside trying to jeer me into wheelying away from traffic lights whilst they film you on their mobys i am a responsible rider not a twat:angry: the last lot raced off on a red light when i started my verbal tyrade!

i think thats whats happened mate, i love watching stunters, but, as been said out side ace is not really the one, not if its to remain open.

The core of the stunters are all well seasoned. They take risks sure, but they’re calculated and most of the danger is to the participant. If we line the roads, well we’re acknowledging the risks IMO. When you watch their riding though, it can be pretty amazing. Most of the tricks are pulled at less than 30MPH and those wheely circles are getting tight. One of them accompanied me for a blast along the A40 into town and did about two miles of non-stop wheely. Of course, naming said rider forum side would be bad form, but witnessing this whilst riding shotgun so to speak, was awesome. Ya see, you don’t have much in the way of lights when you bike’s at about 11 o’clock, so two of us rode either side for cover. It was a buzz!
The Ace has had a lot of hassle recently though, but the biggest culprits seem to be the chav-meisters with the blinged up Vauxhall Corsas or similar. They insist on trying to show off, and with nothing nothing better in their repertoire of tricks than sticking their foot to the floor, they hurtle their wheel-spinning chav-boxes between narrow corridors of cheering pissed up chavvy mates … its actually an even bigger recipe for disaster than the bike stunters.
Having said that, the Ace has to clean up its image and so clean up the tomfoolery. That includes the bike antics. The outcome should be pretty cool though, just seeing an occasional top quality stunt show up the Ace. Then, if you fancy a bit more, the Friday night haunt is good fun too. It would be really good if someone set up a little refreshment counter/van there … he he, wishful thinking!!
