this is a funny one, see i like the stunters, its fantastic to watch them and yes they are very seasoned and bloody good at what they do, you get a few wannabees down there, but you can see who the real stunters are;), BUT i can also see the flip side, ie it shouldnt really be going on on a road like the road that runs outside the ace. the odd little show is good, i enjoy seeing it, but i cant help but remember how dodgy it can be if something goes wrong. people actually stand in the road!..:w00t:
my starting of this thread was just to confirm what i already thought about what might have gone on down there, i just noticed how quite it was!
Anyone look at the Ace cafe website… It has car stunting on the road in it’s promotion video!! So the Ace is a victim of it’s own making. The only ones who seem to care about the cafe are the bikers. They make that cafe. Most the cars off(on the road) the car park bring their own drink anyway. The hear-say at the cafe say “the Ace cafe management can sue the police for not patroling the road properly” in the event of closure because of accidents and the council closing the cafe on safety grounds. The cafe got warned to stop Max-Power nights so they started Jap-Performance nights (wtf). At the same time Ford nights were banned so check the Ace site for events - last tuesday night -blue oval night what do you think that is. The Ace is taken the pi**. Bikers are usually given second preferance on car nights which are about 20 nights a month.
The food prices went up also 2-3 months ago for an already expensive cafe, so that was another nail on it’s coffin. (Not to mention the Quality and portion size)
The Royal Mail have had vehicles interfeared with, so they want it closed.
The bus companys that operate through there want it closed.
I’m pretty sure those Japanese car nights were already on the calendar. The ahem Max Power (sorry those words stick in my throat) nights were more trouble though!
