I have a CBR600F in the best colour, yellow of course I bought mine (private sale) in december, mine is a 51 plate and has 8k on the clock, I paid 3k for it so I would def try and get them knock some money off, they are a dealer so they should be able to handle a bit of a haggle on the price, good luck
hey you got a good deal there by the looks of thingsof course dealer backup comes at a premium i supposemight offer full cash see if that brings the price down a lot
Does sound a tad overpriced, have a look around for thundercats as well, very similar type of bike, but possibly a little less I paid £2125 from a dealer for my 99 (2 years ago, so same relative age as your CBR) with 10K on the clock.
i’m getting that feeling, especially after seeing Tiggi’s bike pics and spec
i figure this bike must be in very good condition for them to justify the price even with dealer backup so its worth a visit to see a good example, you never know i might catch them at a time when they are willing to discount it heavily for cash :Whistling:
bugger its been sold, oh well…so i went to south london motorcycles insteadthey have an 02 CBR600F 11k miles £3395 (not willing to budge much on price but expect i could knock £200 off if i call back and haggle harder than the pathetic newbie i am :P)
no tax, last MOT Aug 06 (to be given MOT)
4 owners, been stored for a year
battery to be replaced
looks in good nick except for a missing bar end (to be replaced, no carpark drop damage that i can see)
started up after charging battery with no probs, sounds ok ticking over
my concern is its been stored for a while, why hasnt he bothered selling it? his response was he has to rotate stock, but in my view CBRs should easily sell esp one looks this tidy
hate the feeling of being a newb when buying a vehicle, yuk! gave the suspension a good shove either end but no test ride yet
heres some picks (is the corrosion on the rear susp pivot and sprocket ok?):
cheers, yeah i thought the chain and sprocket looked a bit poor, storage was prob basic, no cover in a cold old barn or something
if i could get him to £3000 then i could use the £395 for a new chain & sprockets at the next service, the last MOT was at 6000 miles to its done 5000 since and then traded in at the dealer
Sounds like a lot to be done for that price!!! no tax, new battery, new bar end, chain, sprocket!!! Same as last bike mate, haggle lots, don’t pay over the odds just because your desperate for a bike, be patient. If you really want it, do a bit of research on how much all those bits and bobs cost and ask/tell him to take that amount of the price, dont ask, dont’ get
yeah, made it obvious that my real budget was approx 3000 but he was not keen at all to budge on price except for taking off the road tax, but that may have been due to me being a newbie and him scenting a mug buyer
the battery and bar end would be incl. in the price so its the sprocket and chain that would need replacing soonish IM-veryLimited-O (maybe the chain can have a few more miles with some hard cleaning/oiling graft), it was very clean apart from those points and the storage time, rear sprockets arent that expensive compared to what i thought they might be but then i have no point of reference for these things
i might see if he’ll go for £3150 with bar end, battery, tax and service included, any hesitation on his part and i’ll look elsewhere
if he does say yes at that then i’ll put a deposit on it and see if Elad has some time free next week as he kindly offered to test if near him, that way any major problems will be caught (dealer is ok with that)
