110 mph on the M1…What will it get you? A ban? A huge fine? 3 to 6 points on your licence? How about all three? Most likely a combination of all three…
A rather harsh penalty, wouldn’t you say? It seems much harsher when you realize that if you did the same 110 mph on the E40, just 250 miles to the east of here, it would not get you noticed! Seems a bit unfair, doesn’t it? What do you think?
ahhh here we go again… let me sum up some of the posts before they even get here.
- You’re braking the law you deserve what you get
- Take the chance then take the punishment
- ARE YOU KIDDING! That’s so unsafe you deserve to have your balls cut off
- It’s our right to do what we want!
- It’s perfectly safe, you need to go fast to get out of trouble
- So what!? Who’s gonna catch me?
It’s as if we been through this thread before or something!

I got 6 points and £450 fine for 104mph on the A1, said that was my average, peak was 120ish. Road was clear, car was in good condition, I was awake and bright, dry, good conditions, paying attention etc. It’s not right but you’ve got more chance of giving birth to a camel than you have of changing the speed limits upwards ![]()
So much for encouraging debate…
Yeah I know - it’s 'cause I’m an evil BBC Nazi of course.
yeah you watch it buddy, I can shout very loud in a very high pitched scream if I have to.
yes not a good combination, touch wood im quite relaxed about my riding but can get a shift on when i want![]()
Done it across Waterloo Bridge and to slow down started to do a rolling burnout
. Have to love the people walking to work looking at all the smoke coming off the back wheel (lol). The law is there and that is that. Nothing we can do about facts. I ride a bike to enjoy myself and will take on board all broken bones, fines, bans, repair bills, etc that come from doing it.
We all ride for different reason so I repsect you for doing your speed on the M1 in the same way I respect those doing 28mph around London as I pass them. It’s a bike FFS, and not a candy stick to take out with on a Friday night to Soho
At least you were using your bike and not one of these twits that get a thou and sit at 80mph on the M roads (lol)
No need to cry about it. Just remember to look out more next time ![]()
…does that mean you are not allowed to partake in a debate?
i thought the E40 = 130 +
must remember next year
wha? I don’t get it…?
Faze… sorry private joke with Patrick.
My point was this thread comes round every few months and I was predicting the answers you’d get - not stifling any debate.

about 5 miles into Germany there is an unrestricted stretch…
well i was doing 125 on the m25 they averaged my speed at 130, done 13 miles in six minutes, had the charge of due care and attention on me aswell
went to court got a six month ban and 290 pounds fine, mind you i had 9 points already
hope it goes well
oh i see youve changed your speed, it was 150 mph at the time…![]()
is your nose growing?![]()
it was never 150 as an sv650 wouldnt go that fast i thought they said they had me at 150
well lets just say it was off the clock my speed
I’d say a ban of 14-28 days & a fine of around £200-£500 depending on your earnings.
You could plead a load of mitigating circumstances etc. to avoid the ban, but they’d then give you the max 6 points & a slightly bigger fine.
Personally I’d go for the ban, as it’s over & done with quickly, 6 points doesn’t leave you with much leeway to play with for the next 3 years…
this may give you some idea, good luck
your wrong we are the people, we can do something about it…thats what democracy is all about…we can do something about it…it just takes a co-ordinated effort…and a lot of support and i believe that one day we will recognise that freedom is more important than the death of 3000 motorists, ask the 80 million odd that died last century trying to save our freedom, and yet every day this government takes them away bit by bit…they are an insult to the people of the 20th century who died trying to remove the tyrants and dictators of that age to give us, their children freedom, and we go on and insult them further by allowing tony blair, a dictator by actions if not by name to become the leader of this country and take us to war on a pack of lies…and now we have Gordon ‘do as I say or else’ Brown…he even scared tony blair…and thats scary…
Freedom…give me freedom, freedom from tyranny and oppression…and above all Gordon Brown.
