110 mph on the M1!

from when that train stops at the other end there are no speed limits till we come home again.

I think you’ve lost the plot mate. Two of your posts have caught my eye today and I really do disagree with them.

I’ll break it down bit by bit -

your wrong we are the people, we can do something about it…thats what democracy is all about…we can do something about it…it just takes a co-ordinated effort…and a lot of support and i believe that one day

Yep, democracy is all about that, that is how we got to the laws we have today. By all means change the laws by getting your MP’s to do so - but I really can’t see it. As you said, democracy rules so there will always be a minority unhappy with the laws and the decisions made by MP’s voted in by the Majority.
Where it comes to speeding, I’m afraid you are in the minority. The UK will not abolish speed limits.

we will recognise that freedom is more important than the death of 3000 motorists,

Err, I doubt that the families and friends of those killed will agree with you, especialy when what you mean is freedom to speed and not freedom of anything else.

ask the 80 million odd that died last century trying to save our freedom,

I would say they died to save our democracy and way of life - This democracy and way of life still continues.

and yet every day this government takes them away bit by bit…

So what can’t you do now that you could 30 years ago ? What freedoms have you lost ? If you have lost anything does it make one difference to your daily life ?

they are an insult to the people of the 20th century who died trying to remove the tyrants and dictators of that age to give us, their children freedom,

No offence mate, it is you that sounds like a tyrant, you appear to be trying to force the change of laws on those that don’t want it democratically.

and we go on and insult them further by allowing tony blair, a dictator by actions if not by name to become the leader of this country

The fact that he was voted in democratically doesn’t quite fit in your sentence.

take us to war on a pack of lies…

Very emotive subject and I take it this is what you hate Tony Blair for - are you one of those that voted him in in 97 and now shout from the roof tops about how evil he is ??? There doesn’t seem to be anyone that voted him in yet he won a General Election ?!?!?!?

and now we have Gordon ‘do as I say or else’ Brown…he even scared tony blair…and thats scary…

I don’t like the bloke either, will air my view at the next election in a democratic way. If he wins I gues thats the way that a democratic country works, if I don’t like it I could always bugger off to a Dictator led country - an option you could also considor Twostrokesliveon ??

Superb post there Trojan ! Gets my vote for the most intelligent post of 2007 when it come to the annual LB awards

You sure you’re a copper ?

Trojan, never has a post looked more like it came from a cops hands as that one did

It’s all a myth, I’m not a copper really !

Great post Trojan!

that avatar pic the one taken at Hendon and on your warrant card.

lol

With what I seen of you driving you must be a cop…

Blimey…mouthful there mate !!

Well done on breaking it down Tro…end of the day you speed, you get caught, you pay the penalty…its become a way of our life…

In america you can drive while using your mobile, you can ride with no protective clothing while on your bike, there are no speed cameras, no humps in the roads to slow you down…them and us i guess…we get walloped every which way with petrol prices alone anyway, but if you get caught you must have been breaking the law in first place, so it was your choice to take that chance…im no angel and had my fair share of paying penalties…will i go that bit faster if opportunity arises again?..is the pope catholic?

The thing is, there are laws out there that some of agree with and some of us don’t.

Some things I’ll be all for, won’t be something that the next man/woman/biker will want or like.

We each have our own outlook in life and each of us has our own line that we won’t cross when it comes to the laws of the land.

Most of us do break the speed limit (and some of you naughty peeps get caught at the worst times) and we all know that here in the UK it is wrong (in the eyes of the law) and we have no option to take it on the chin when caught or attempt to play the law at it’s own game and try and get out of it on a technicality.

As for those laws, well, as I’ve already said, they are voted in by the people that we vote to speak on our behalf, if we don’t like the law then we should talk with our pen and make sure voices are heard by lobbying your MP and making your voice heard when it comes to election time.

I wasn’t trying to have a pop at the original poster that I disagreed with (twostrokesliveon) and I do have previous for sounding a bit condescending - not meant but I do rattle on, having re-read my original reply it does sound that way a bit. Just a case differing of opinions and me wanting to voice mine.

Anyway … on with the revolution !

haha … I really am not guilty this time !

A Copper with a sense of humour…errrrrrrr…
