Over the past months I have seen so many YouTube videos of the Yosh and TBR’s (Both Carbon) with such variation, in terms of sound and opinion, I’m now thoroughly confused.
By writing this detailed account of my findings, I hope to provoke some genuine responses from people who have had direct experience with these two pipes (and bike), as oppose to spending most of my nightime hours hunting down evidence on Youtube (like the sad obsessed tw@t I’ve come to be)
Sorry - I digress, I’ve become passionate about this subject…
Two Bro’s M5 Carbon
**Appearance: **
Looks good seen some pics or ‘Arnies’ 675 on the forum, (sorry Arnie hope you dont mind me sharing this) : www.my675.com
Sound:
Sounds loud, just what we’re after, deep and throaty, is it too loud? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=D_tD20AAWYg&feature=related
Cost:
Relatively cheap in comparison to other pipes available on the market for the 675. (£380 approx)
Performance:
Small performance increase (+5HP Max / Removable baffle ‘sound tip’)
Legality:
Questionable. Number plate re-positioning bit iffy.
**Build quality: **
Nobody seems to have had one long enough to comment on this subject…
**Remapping: **
Two Bro’s Web says no remap needed… I’d question that, and get it done anyway to ensure performance.
** TBR’s Summary:**
Looks different in that it has a very wide opening, very tail tidy, sounds deep, relatively cheap, not much feedback from those in the UK with this pipe. Questionable build quality and performance increase.
The Yoshi RS-5:
Appearance:
Looks freaking sweet… Tri Oval can, looks better quality than the TBR’s, although the Supplied brackets look tacky. Not such a large outlet as the TBR’s, but more of a ‘refined’ look
Sound:
Very distinct sound… but sounds different in each vid…
Vid#1 - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=e3tDIl5tC84 (Sh1te vid, but sounds freakin mental!!)
Vid#2 - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=u-3ZqIbj9JM (Fellah claims it doesn’t emit a ‘normal’ Yosh high pitch sound, but a more deeper tone due to the 3 Cylinder)
No hardcore ‘exhaust note’ evidence… E.g. the Yosh on the CBR600RR sounds pants, yet in the above vid’s it sounds pretty good. (Cant tell whether baffles in or out)
Cost:
Little bit more than the TBR’s (£440 approx)
Performance:
Small performance increase (+5HP Max / Removable baffle)
Legality:
Comes with Fender brackets enabling the use of stock fender, (Would be replaced with 675 fender eliminator kit that will bolt onto the Yoshi supplied brackets) This is a ‘purpose built’ race pipe, possible issues there…
Build quality:
+50 Years of ‘Race heritage’ and build experience for the track, appearance seems better quality, suits the 675 profile too
Remapping:
Remap is advised. Not surprising as this pipe is primarily made for the track and not road use…
Yosh Summary:
Very little known about the Yosh pipe on the 675 in the UK…Looks better than TBR’s, possibly better build quality, bit more costly, undefined exhaust note due to poor vids and unknown baffle element in Vids, it has race Heritage.
OK - It’s a lot to take in… You see what I’ve been contending with in my head eh?! This is why I need YOUR help!
I’ll be honest, I’m swaying towards the Yoshi, it has a contemporary shape, I have a black 675, and comes with ‘legal’ fender brackets and I think with the unique 675 triple engine, baffles removed, it’ll sound sweet, loud, but not toooo loud.
My fellow bikers, please help me out before I really lose the plot eh?
Cheers
