Would you buy Bridgestone tires after doing Ron Haslam?

Tires are so difficult to compare properly unless you ride them back to back which is unlikely unless you are a journalist. The Bridgestone felt great at Donnington Park so I’d definitely consider them next time I’m replacing both tires. A race circuit isn’t a normal road though so it’s not the most realistic of test scenarios. Just wondered if anyone else had any thoughts or was less taken in by their marketing.

Simple answer…YES!!

They felt fantastic, i was really pushing the bike and had it leant as far over as i would risk and not once did they feel like they couldn’t cope, i was powering out of corners on full throttle and not once did it squirm or snake up the road, Under real heavy braking from full throttle down the hill into the Esses they never once felt like they would give way. So i would 100% buy them.

I can not comment of the track
But road all I can say is I never felt at one, with them.
Hard not great in the wet. But I think tyres are personal.
I’m a Michelin girls, pin tried to tell me dunlops are great, I don’t like them.

Ive always been a michelin fan too. I run pilot power 2ct’s on my bike and love them, but those battlax’s on RHRS are bloody good on track.

track conditions are totally different to road conditions
tracks use a more grippy tarmac

The Honda came with Bridgestone Battlax BT023’s front and rear, Bridgestone’s market these as their ‘sport touring tyre’.

Was happy enough to replace the rear like for like. Wet or dry it sticks to the tarmac good enough, just remains to see what mileage I get from it.

I got 18k miles out of the triumphs BT23
I changed over to PR3 to see if there was a difference & preferred the PR3 & I have PR4 on the k7 I don’t like them so will be going back to PR3 or BT30

I have a pair of the TC whatever’s on mine as recomended by Haslam’s school and Mick at Essential Rubber. They are superb and have help develop my rider even further.

The tires on the Haslam bikes worked for me- but then the PR4s have done 10K on the Beemer all winter and have never given me reason to question them. (Apart from that effing manhole cover in Westminster sqare!)

I had S20’s on my MT-09 and loved them. Not sure how different T30’s are but I liked how they felt on the track. But then again, it’s a completely different environment and heat cycle than on the normal road.

No!

There are more Bridgestones than one could shake a stick at. Did anyone clock which Bridgestones Ron Haslam was running on the race school bikes?

MCN did a big write up about them using T30, which replaced the BT023

I liked the tires at RHRS, so would probably…

No. On track maybe, but already have my track tyre choice. Diablo Supercorsa SP.
The latest memory of BT tyres is bike wheel spinning when moist or cold so I will pass on them as all year tyre choice.

R

I have a BT023 front tyre that grips more than happily enough in all weather. Pirelli Angel ST on the rear (special offer at FWR). Both work fine on my little bike.

RHRS were running T30’s and T30’s evo. Which one of them were actually on the bike couldn’t tell(didn’t check). So again evo might be more agressive then t30. I wouldn’t generally consider t30(touring tyre to be very sticky). It just can’t have it all be super long lasting and sticky as slicks and grip like on the rails in the wet.
Personally i had small drift in low speed corner (but that might have been me being to greedy) So you can unstick them even with 600 no problem.

I would put my money on Michelins pilot power 2ct’s or Dunlops sportsmart2. A lot of people usually steer away from Dunlops because of the price. But let me tell you this they are worth every penny. 6k miles on sticky tyres and still going.
