Would you be wiilling?

Ohhh, i forgot, some LB stickers as well

Anyone got any??? The black, old english font looks cool.

Has this been happening alot up London then meaning in the City!! Ive never really worried about it once a get to work…

guys you dont need stickers ! Just do it I have never had anyone complain about me doing it and I have never complained eithier …what possible reson could you object

Great shout CM, i’m up for that.

It’s a great idea…except that it’s not always compatible with trying to keep your chain in a fairly taut and off-the-ground state (to make it harder for someone to cut it)

From what I’ve read on here there aint much chain cutting going on in broad daylight in Central London.

The current trend is just to pick a bike up and pop it in a van:angry:

+1They don’t want to be seen cutting a chain, especially an Almax that would require some noisy and very visible angle grinders.

great idea anything to stop them lifting them is fantastic

I’d love to hear the reasons for the one mystery person who has voted no:cool:

Same, been doing this for years and nobody has ever objected

I’m not sure why anyone would get arsey if you looped your chains together, you are not touching their bike, not moving it, just helping each other out?!

I was at a mates place in Chelsea the other day and noticed that all bike bays had anchors, which i thought was a great idea, or if not an anchor, a fence that you can lock it to? My road has those on them…

Its the deterent that will stop them they are opportunists type! I’m defo up for it…

Chunky - this is a great idea - the LB stickers idea is helpful - I’ve always made a point of not touching other people’s bikes/scooters in anyway - if I start doing this all the time do you reckon it might **** some people off - how about mass producing a card or note explaining that you’ve threaded your chain through theirs and why

Good idea, I wouldn’t mind having someone chain their chain through my chain!!

However, if someone is having a spaced out kind of day and chains their chain to your bike instead, then you’re in trouble:rolleyes:

Garret, we hear you mate.

If you want to register and pay money to lock2lock then go ahead and give them a tenner.:w00t:

I’m just suggesting a free alternative. I’m just asking the question that if someone saw an LB sticker on a bike, would it be safe to chain to their chain.

So far the majority are in agreement.

i’m game… is there any protocol on where to stick the stickers? I would have put them on my wheel cover as it is large, faces up when locked and close to the chain… ?

I’m with you there, except that I would still try to chain mine up so that the chain’s taut. Note: I DO think this is a great idea. I’m only pointing out that in SOME cases it might prove difficult in practise.

Not particularly, this is not what was suggested by my posting those URLs.

It’s a worthwhile question, one that I could only say yes to. Feel free to chain your chain to my chain.
Might I also suggest that the idea be proposed in other online biking communities such as CBC, Visordown, BCF etc. The more people are aware that this might happen and the reason for doing it in the first place, the better for all.

great idea
i will be putting this threads link in my sig and L2L’s site
