WOT, NO PROTECTION!

Digging up the the old stuff again but this is what happened to me a few weeks back for being lazy and not putting on my leathers or textiles to go to work. Got up in the morning and couldn’t be assed spending the extra few minutes to put something protective on. Result? On the way home I hit an oil/diesel patch on the M25 at 60mph, as I went sliding down the road I tried to dig in my toes in an attempt to keep as much of my legs etc off the ground, never really worked though, just ended up with melted boots! Uniformn lasted all but .5 of a second as did the skin on my knee.[/URL]

Beautiful. :pinch:

OUCH!

No sympathy chap! not that you were asking for any! ouch!

Not looking for any either chap, I was lazy and paid the price! We have a saying in work, ‘if you’re looking for sympathy, you’ll find it in the dictionary between sh*t and syphilis’.

bet that made your eyes water !!!

Glad you learnt that mistake and not me…I’ll take that and keep those deeply attractive images in mind next time I don’t fancy leathering up.

Worse thing was, I called the RAC who said as it’s on the Mway it’s a priority and they’d have someone there in half an hour. This sounded good, I thought right, pick up in half hour another 40 minutes to get home then a cab up to the Royal Free which is ten minutes from my home. But no, the RAC sent the recovery down the M3 and not the M25 as I had stated, took them 2 hours to get to me by which time the adrenalin was gone, I was feeling the pain. Ended up I had to get an ambulance which took me to Chertsey. They kept me in overnight and I then had no clothes to get home in the next day as they took the scissors to what was left of them to get them off me. I love iot when a plan fails to come together! :w00t:

Please do!

Nice! Will start using that one.

sorry about that fella. I would say I have no sympathy but that would just make me sound like a dick. :stuck_out_tongue:

LOL;)

Ouch mate, looks nasty !

I NEVEr go ou without the gear on, but yesterday morning I needed to pop to the bank (just over a mile away) and went in shorts and T shirt.
Drove a lot slower than usual, got there fine… then straddled the bike to make my way home while it was on the side stand, and ended up with the exhaust pipe (the bit before it joins the can) nicely searing the skin on my calf :pinch: Lesson learnt !

and your not???:w00t::hehe:;):stuck_out_tongue:

to be honest mate you’ve got away very lucky there.

I’ve seen people with road rash down to the bone.

Cheers for that Shando.

I’m another born again biker. I didn’t use leathers back when I used to ride before but after seeing your pics, I thought sod that for a game of soldiers and ordered a leather jacket with protection and leather trousers.

My daughter thinks I’ll look like a reject from the village people. I’ll try to remember that when I’m sliding along the M25 on my arse :w00t:.

Hope it heals up soon.

nice!! you wont do that again in a hurry;)

And anyway, chicks dig scars  :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D or so I keep telling my four year old when he moans about a new bruise or scrape
