How loud is that, Paul? I have to say, I can’t stand it when this kid comes down my road on a screamer with an aftermarket exhaust, it does my head in, it’s so offensive, not like a nice roar of a big-bike, which makes my heart flutter. Like the hand-warmers, lol…
It is quite loud, but not as loud as your RaceFit Jay.
I agree with you bout little annoying screamers it’s annoying when they’re all show and no go, but i don’t think it’s so bad to hear a loud bike that goes like it sounds. And with commuting like i do, the more people hear me coming the better.
I quite like riding the scooter, it’s like split personalities. On the R1 everyone expects you to go fast but the Gilera’s a bit of a street sleeper and not many people know 180’s exist, the look on people’s faces on the M4 is priceless. But if i put a hoody on, black visor and ride the scoot i get to forget i’m a grown up family man, and just have fun, cos everyone already expects you too ride like a hooligan anyway. It’s just my alter-ego.

Are you being serious? PM Tuning have a couple, that do 0-60 in 3 secs, run 11 secs quarter miles and Mr Clarkson once raced a 180 against a Porsche Carrera and i think it won.
Although in fairness the speedo’s are not that accurate over 60ish, but it’s still great fun!

Damn, shouldn’t have mentioned the scoot now, bloody cursed myself.
Came out of work today and someone’s cut the strap on the cover and had a good look at the exhaust, first day in town with new pipe, and left the cover lying next to bike.
Then when i get ready to go, my mate wants a look at the exhaust so i start it and show him. Couple of revs on the centre stand and souinds good, till he randomly puts foot on rear wheel, where it’s dark he can’t see wheel spinning, and the tyre sucks his foot up into rear mud guard and snaps said item in half. Then as he pulls foot out he snaps new little number plate off, all without the aid of a safety net. Friend will be replacing broken parts so had to have a chuckle afterwards really.
Then on the way home all bloody lights come on on dash, i lose ignition, engine trys to stall at about 50mph. I pull over, take off front panel and it seems to have beenn a loose conection on the back of ignition barrel, not sure if it’s got anything to do with cover but hey, seemed to be working fine so off i go.
Stopped for petrol and air on way home and now the bike feels damn slow for some reason. Think i’ve just cooked the already worn rollers, but just so happens to all happen at once.
Anyway on a lighter note i’m going down ace tonight so if you’re there and wanna go Foxy, no probs. It’s still bloody fast for a scoot, just not as quick as should be. Maybe it just needs a Woman’s touch.
