I broke the habit of a lifetime this morning, and used the train to get to work. Bloody thing went two stops and then sat there… for 25 minutes without moving. I think someone had forgotten to pay the electric bill or something… GRRRRRRRR
Still it was only 20 minutes late by the time it got to Victoria
What a mess lol, I guess there are things worse than having to use the UK public transport system, im not sure what they are… but something has to be worse
The last time i used public transport was when i had to leave my bike at Westies garage for some repairs and it took 1h 45 mins to get home and on the bike it would only take 45mins.
i got the train yesterday and had to sit listening to 2 middle aged Doctor Who fans moaning about the prospect of a female doctor and how it would be the end of civilisation as we know it…
You have my heart felt sympathy, honestly. Even riding in this rain is better than being cooped up with the smelly hoards of public transport users. I had 3 1/2 years of “pubic trainsport” and it was horrible. The delays were just getting worse and the prices higher and the trains more jam packed full.
You’ll find that the earlier trains are as bad, but as it is a tad cooler in the morning the smell is not quite as intense…!
When ever traveling to work the morning after a heavy night before, i try to look as unpleasant as possible - my breath and bloodshot eyes usually help here…
Stangely enough i dont have to worry about persoanl space on these mornings
Almost makes a guaranteed hangover from hell worth while!
At lerast yours went 2 stops, mine only went one! Then I changed at London Bridge and the Charing Cross train didn’t move for ages either… hate the trains, but commuting by bike too all the fun out of riding :crying:
Got an earlier train… no bloody seats! Where do all these people go to that early in the morning???
Stood all the way to Victoria.
On the way home, train delayed leaving Victoria, then held up at Chatham (which is tantalisingly close to home) while they mended the window which had broken…
3 days of train left…although I am wavering a bit and may take the bike tomorrow
Madscientist…I know you live a lot further out from me and that you use the train every day. You must truly be mad!!!
Decided the weather was just fine for a bit of offroading today, gave it a real canning! Come over a crest to find mate laying spread eagle, either run over mate or hit tree!
I did the honourable thing and hit tree!
Smashed up £300 worth of Arai Moto X and bust my wrist!
Managed to keep riding for a further 4 hours until the pain was unbearable!
No riding for 6 weeks (we’ll see about that!), so I’m on the train from tomorrow.
