Why there no run flat tyres?

So, yesterday when I go to work I found that I have a puncture and flat tyres and luckily it was only 4pm so I managed to ride it to a shop and get it repair. Then I thought what if it was 10pm and I am 20 miles from any shops, if that happens the only option I would have is to call the recover service but why there isn’t run flat motorcycle tyres? I know there’s run flat car tyres. then I came across this video.

Anyone know if run flat motorcycle tyres actually exist?

Dan

To do it on cars they have to make the tyres heavy and stiff . Bike tyres are more fussy about weight and are made to flex .

Carry a puncture repair kit?

I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for them to arrive on the market though!

I am sure I read a while back about an idea to use lots of small balls in a bike tyre that would stop a tyre from fully deflating. Can’t find anything now though only ones for off road tyres.

they do make them it’s calles mousse and is for off-road use.

PR 3s did pretty well for us for a very long way on holiday once. Not saying how long but it was loooooooonnnnnng :Whistling:

Wow I remember those in the press 6 years ago. Could be longer, they were only going to be initially for scooters. Heard nothing since then.
