spot on there Jay…
I think it’s right that people like this are allowed to air their views. It’s one of the differences between the UK & Iran that he can come over here a talk rubbish on one of our TV channels, whereas I can’t see Iranian TV being allowed to show a programme by Gordon Brown…
I think that I might watch this on the C4 player. Missed it on Christmas day, I am interested what this man has to say that could be relevant to a society that is open and free and does not oppress its own population.
No one from this country would be allowed to broadcast an unrestricted message to Iran. I would certainly think that the person trying would “disappear” or would face a public flogging or execution.
Stunned.

Thats what i was thinking, where IS / WAS the relevance ?
Which country is that, if you are meaning the Uk we are far from open, (government lies about serious crime and its plans to increase tax) we definitely are not free (you have to pay to get into london) and this government is totally oppressive, they have removed our right to silence or conviction of a more serious nature ensues…this is government torture, they are now introducing a law that will make anyone who has sex with a prostitute, (currently not illegal) illegal and undefendable in Law. Guilty without any options for defence…this is oppression on a scary scale…
The Uk is better in many ways than Iran, and in many ways not, but people in power are about as trustworthy as an alligator in a florida swimming pool…
Have to agree - having power over other people can have a corrupting effect - particularly if it has been held for a decade like the current government.
if you watched Ahmedinejad’s speech in Columbia University, and the president of Columbia University’s introduction, you would probably think that American academic was “a stupid populist bigot and a religious nut”. Judging by what he said, instead of what every mainstream media said of him, you probably think differently.
i haven’t watched Ahmadinejad’s speech on C4, but I think probably it brought a fresh change after year in year out watching/listening the queen and those bishops in the collective craziness of gift buying, pathological consuming, spending boosting Christmas:),
