I’ve been to
new jersey /newyork/washinton/atlantic city/philadephia/san francissco/monerey/carmel/laughing/las vegas/hollywood/grand canyon/arizona/oatman/ and had a great time and loved it![]()
you had to do a spell check on that right?.. you didnt know how to spell that on your own.
i wouldnt believe that a biker can spell that one. unless he was born there or something.
Ok I confess, I got a map out ![]()

never fancied going to the states but would love to go either to Chicago to see a Bears game at Soldier field or to the superbowl.
H
Just curious…but why Chicago?
OK, by state just to make it easier to type.
East coast: Washington D.C., New York, New Jersey, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia.
Coast to coast: Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada.
I guess I’ve been at least a dozen times as my brother now lives in New York.
Most tackiest yet aluring place: Las Vegas.
Best view: Vermont in autumn.
Place I’d not go back to: New Orleans (this was before the hurricane. OK, I’d go back for the D-Day museum but I’d be quick).
Places I’d like to see: Tennessee, North Carolina.
does Canada count ???
we will be going to British Columbia to look for property in Jan 07
and i will be packing my winter woolies!!! ![]()
Been to the states 5 times now, unfortunately having children curtailed much of our travelling…but will pick up again in time!
Been to New York City (where i felt strangely at home), Florida three times (Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Daytona, Tampa, Clearwater), and California once (Los Angeles, San Diego).
One of my ambitions is to visit all 50 states, only another 47 to go!! ![]()
I’ve got a friend in Clearwater I would love to visit. Maybe as an inter-rim break next summer. Foxy wants to live in Miami, so who knows, maybe one day we will then I can finally meet all my US buddies. Greg, how far are you from Florida?
Unfortunately, Jay…I’m roughly 1,600 miles from the sunny shores of Florida.
You and Foxy are always welcome here in Kansas, though.
Where ya from in Kansas, I’m in good ol’ Laramie, Wyoming?
lived in gainesville ( florida ) great place
I’ve been a fair bit. Mostly working - but some for pleasure.
I went to Daytona for bike week in 96. Had a good time, but the main race was delayed 'till the next weekend 'cos of bad weather - I missed it! ![]()
The hurt wasn’t so bad, we both had a great time, and I met my hero - Mr Daytona himself - Scott Russell!
Went to some superbowls, to see the Bills. I’d followed them for years, during which time they were often the worst team in the NFL.
So of to Tampa I trot, the Bills have the best offence in the NFL - a pretty good D too. In the AFC championship they beat the Raiders 53 - 6. Guess what, they miss a last second field goal and loose!
I went back 3 more times as the Bills became the only team in NFL history to make 4 superbowls in a row. They finished second every time! ![]()
I’d like to visit some of the National parks - maybe moutain bike through them.
I expect when I get 'round to it I’ll be eaten by a bear! ![]()
I’m actually from Boston, MA…only living in Kansas (near Wichita) now to help my Mom through breast cancer…I’m looking forward to the day I can return “home.”
KS, sorry to hear about your Mum, thoughts are with you both for a good recovery mate.
As for visiting the States, I’ve been too - New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco (a few times) Portland (OR), Las Vegas, Orlando (had to do the Disney thing and loved it), Lake Tahoe.
During those trips (with different mates / girlfriends etc) we did a bit of touring etc and I’ll have to admit that the Coast Road from San francisco up into Northern California is absolutely amazing, would love to do that on a bike.
Having done a little bit of travelling, I’ll also say that the Americans can be and usually are the best Hosts you’ll find - I’m not just saying that as we’ve got a few here.
Anyone that hasn’t been then get yourself over there.
Lived there for just over three years. First Raleigh NC, then Atlanta.
Been to pretty much all the major cities and states, several times with the exception of Portland, Seattle and Mineapolis St Pauls. Haven’t done the Dakotas or Hawaii. Bar that pretty much seen most.
Boarded in the Rockies (Vail and Breckenridge). Did a weekend roadtrip with 4 buddies down to Mardi Gras in 2000 from Raleigh. That was a great time. Whitewater rafting on the Upper Gauley in West Virginia. Skydiving near Fayetteville NC. So many great things to do and see.
Thinking back on a cold grey day in London, I must have been a moron to come home…
